How did the panel lines come out so nice? Were they pre-painted in black before the final coat of Light Gull Grey was applied?

Black Lion VF-213 wrote:Question to Jack:
Is this metal gear upgrade an remove and replace on the existing gear with a small new part, or is it a total new metal gear that can be swapped out? If it is an entire new gear is it still retractable or is it a plug in part similar to the 1/32 BBI F-4 Phantom?
Thanks
It is a metal part which I have to install here ,reason being parts are fairly simple however procedure to mount it is not , gear retract and telescopic action is retained there is however no spring action .Now new gear im working on is also retractable and it will be just simple swap and it will be good point to start for super detailers however it is in a prototype stage and further development depends on how many people will be interested to buy .I hope people would try to read the whole post before asking me the same question again

After seeing the canopy being painted in the gray scheme, it had to be a Sundowners plane as they were one of the few squadrons that painted them gray with a Hi-Vis scheme.

Also, since the "Miss Molly" was the 2009 AWOH theme it had to have come up. After thinking about it, that is one of the more popular schemes that would sell better than others.

I think that JSI may just do this scheme down the road along with a F-14A VF-41 "Black Aces" Modex # 100 BuNo 161607 and a F-14D VF- 213 "Black Lions" Modex # 213 BuNo 164602.

That Sundowners "Miss Molly" looks awesome.

What is the cost[over and above the plane] of the Black Aces and Sundowners repaints.

Two great choices.

skyworks has their custom planes posted at military toy shop, the price $700 for the sundowners scheme, $625 for the black ace and black bunny schemes.

At least !

Post by supersonicfifi » Thu Jan 28, 2010 2:54 am

Hello all !

After more than one year of anxious waiting i did receive my TOMCAT !!!!

THIS IS AWESOME i went with SKYWORKS for the custom paint and landing gear !!!!

It's really a clever custom & evrything went according to plan with Jack.

The only problem was the transportation in FRANCE (maybe some remember the subject i've posted a few weeks ago concerning the handling of fragile package : viewtopic.php?t=18715&highlight=)

Here is the battle damage assessment when i opened the box :

One gear door, Radar dish attachement, + top airbrake = BROKEN
the worst is that the super custom landing gear of SKYWORKS is broken at the weak point (the plastic part wich hold the wheel !)

I think after studying the box + package that somwhere & sometime the whole thing was thrown flat to the ground with force ! because the 4 boken things were clean cut

Is a pitty because the metal landing gear looks awesome !!!!!!

I am sorry because it's a bit of sadness and now i am very hangry at the people who do the delivery : are they playing football with my TOMCAT ?

THe point is that skyworks has done a super job !!!!!!! and i thank very much JACK for his super work !
1/18 mirage 2000 & RAFALE should i say more ?

Here in Belgium I had to pay Customs taxes but at least they do care about parcel.

Sorry to hear you've been unlucky :(
