Now that I have your attention...What is the actual size of a 1941 Willys Jeep??

Is it 131" (10' 11") x 62 " (5' 2") ?? That would make it just a hair over 7 1/4" long in 1:18 scale.

I know of 4 companies(Gate, 21C, Solido,and UT) that have released the jeep and they all claim to be 1:18 scale, however, they list the the length at anywhere from 7" to 8". The Solido is the only one I can find that consistently lists the Jeep at 7 1/4". Does that size work for 1:18 figures without removing legs or is it better to go with a slighty larger version?

The thing is most 1:18 diecast manufacturers don't scale for figures, but for accuracy.

Seeing as plastic doesn't give like skin, fabric and springs, you're probably better off going with the version at least somewhat designed for figures, 21st's.

Anybody who has driven a WW2 knows that seating room is tight. The steering wheel has no adjustment and the seat moves back very little.

As a 6+ footer, "full size" guy, driving a WW2 Jeep is torture.

Maybe your question should be about the size of your 1/18 figures, all being the same size and what would that mean scaled up to 1/1. WW2 guys were shorter than 6' , by and large, and vehicles were designed with leg room for the average guy in the 30's and 40's.

Driving a WW2 Dodge is a little better for the "average" guy of today, but distance between wheel and belly is limited.. My Command Car had more room, for some reason, and of course my modern trucks (M-37, M-715, M-880 are a pleasure compared to WW2 vehicles.

I don't want to hear from "vertically height deprived" guys...... live with it...... I live with my size..... Did I ever tell you the story about the day I was going home on the SI Ferry and while standing in the front of the boat in a sizable crowd of "little" people fellow commuters and this seagull flies down and lands on my head (highest point in the crowd). I brushed him (or her) off and the crowd roared. Everybody had a good laugh but me. Big people don't have a easy life, sometimes......

I've been told that 21C's Kubelwagen isn't very figure friendly. Is that true about their Jeep also? I don't mind if it's a tight fit but taking legs off to fit figures in a vehicle makes no sense to me..especially when the company that makes the vehicle also makes the figures that are supposed to go with it.
