Which Tomcats do you want to see next from JSI? As in which squadrons, paint schemes, variants, et al.
I hope JSI eventually makes an F-14B and F-14D Super Tomcat. It's within their capability but it won't happen right away. Nonetheless, I think both variants beg to be made, especially considering their success in recent wars. The Bombcat truly was an evolutionary phase for the Tomcat.
Here are the Tomcats I'd like to see:
- VF-1 Wolfpack High Viz
- VF-101 Grim Reapers red fin F-14B
- VF-101 Grim Reapers F-14B shark mouth demo plane with black vert stabs
- VF-103 F-14B with white trim
- VX-4 F-14A Vandy 1
- VF-2 Bounty Hunters F-14D
- VF-41 Black Aces OIF F-14A
- VF-154 Black Knights CAG F-14A
Undoubtedly there are more, but those are the 1st that come to mind for me.
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:
F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

VF-111 Sundowners in both Hi and Low vis.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Sundowners, Wolfpack and Black Aces for me, though I am perfectly satisfied with JSI's choice for their S1 version that I won't need another. The VF-84 Jolly Rogers scheme is my favorite for the F-14 so I'm thrilled we are getting it right off the bat.
If JSI were any more like 21c, the S1 F-14 would have been in an Iranian scheme for the first release with all the highly desired shemes slated for later runs. Then, just after releasing the plane, the company would go under, on purpose of course

I was going to say the Tomcatters too, but would having a licensed character be out of the question?

High vis Sundowners would be nice, but the Navy had so many great looking scheme, you really can't go wrong with the Tomcat.
Fred, really looking forward to the JSI 1/18th scale Grumman F-14 Tomcat.

It is.
I have a feeling that the Vandy 1 is inevitable, I just worry that it will be an exclusive somewhere.

Not trying to be a downer, but at well over $200 a piece, how many people are going to get different squadrons of these.
You are going to have to be a pretty dedicated collector to get more than one scheme.
That being said,I would like to see "Sundowners",and "Black Aces"

The next plane they should make is the
A-10

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

Sundowners all the way!
As for my repaint. I might do the 1997 Swordsmen scheme... That or the 1978 Black Aces.

I don't see why not, it would be great to see a 1/18 F-14D using the last Tomcatters markings.

Great choices, especially the latter, I always liked that scheme.

I wish the navy would go back to full color tail art and giant national insignia like in the 70's. Heck I wish all the world's air forces would. Tiny gray scale insignia suck. Low viz be dammed!

HELL YEAH! I find it weird too, that the Navy insists on having the tail code letters on the Super Hornets pushed forward away from the rudder, thereby making the tail logos smaller and off center.
Also my favorite Tomcat, Corsair, Phantom, and Intruder paint schemes are all high viz. Sure some of the low viz ones look cool but high viz looks so much better.

You're thinking of VX-4 "Evaluators". They were actually not a frontline nor training squadron but rather a test and evaluation squadron in Point Mugu.
They actually had three or four Playboy bunny tail schemes. Two gray with black bunnies and two black tail with white bunnies. Not all at the same time but periodically their bunny tails surfaced....
