Another long one.
Guys I tell you this project is some work. The Wirbelwind and M-10 with all of their angles aint got nothin' on this 222
It is starting to look like something.
I have wanted to kill anybody lately but so far I have 38 hrs into this.
Yep I have been keeping track . Two loooooong days and two short days.
I have at least that much or more to finish

It sure looks pink does it not ?flyboy_fx wrote:ITS PINK!
must be from JSI.....
Usually I give things a shot of grey primer to show off the detail . But there is a lot of work yet to do before I do that.
I use a dk blue background with the gray but with the white plastic the camera pics up the background and the white turns out fuzzy.
So with changing the back ground (it is actually day glo green ) I can pick up sharper images.
But they look PINK !!!!!

I started the under carrage. Lots of unseen work to be done here. I have her up on her wheels for a mock up.
I also started the suspension. I am not sure how much detail I should put on the bottom. The only way you will see it if you have a crashed 222 diorama.
Let me know your opinion on this .
Suspension assembly . Yes those are real springs . I have them but the assembly will be static. I will make it so the wheels will roll.
This is what I am after

Yes no problem for money orders.normandy wrote: Pickel, Your 222 is looking great! I don't see any reason to have it in a "crashed" diorama. It's too cool of a model to wreck. So for detail on the under side I wouldn't go nuts. Make things easy for your self and save some time.
Will you take money orders? I've had some problems with pay pal.
Quite a few guys pay me that way.

I spent ALL DAY working on the top anti granade cover.
It is safe to say that this one of the most challanging things I have ever made.
It is not done yet . The problem was is how do I do the frames ?
Scale or make it in such a way you can " play " with it. Scale would be TOO FRAGILE . So I am going to have to beef it up. The front part is how wide the frames are going to be about 5 mm wide. The top railing is going have to be this wide as well.
Any input is welcome.

I got some things done today.
The wheel armor hub protector and most of the turret basket. I made it like the Tamiya model but it is incorrect. There are additional braces about 1/4 inch from the center.
The frames are a little chunky but believe me it makes it easier to put the screens in. They can be thinned out if desired .

Pickeldude, This is looking Great! The frames are fine on the turret. When 21st, BBI, Admiral and FOV come calling, tell them They need to slim down the frames for production.
You've gone above and beyond on this project and we're all pleased! Just remember to make things ease on yourself.
As you know somethings can't be to scale if someone is going to play with it.

Thanks guys for all of the Kudos.
I went ahead and thinned out the frames a bit. I think they look much better. I wish that I could go thinner. But that aint happening.
I have been scratching my head a lot on this project. There will be a few things that I will take liberties at.
One is the seats. They should rotate with the turret. But if you try to put figures you will have a heck of a time. It will be near impossible to put the seats in and just no way to get figure inside. So I am going to do a seat platform in the hull. This will sit down there and you can do with it what you will.
Here is the seat. You may shave to the figures butts to get it in.
Reworked turret basket frames.
Gun platform
