What should the next custom 1/18 scale aircraft be ? Poll 2
lol.....this is becoming like the selection of a presidential candidate.
no more polls! (unless the spit doesn't win of course)
in truth i want all 3. so if pH could make all three....spread over a good period of time so people can afford them all, that would be swell.

i never met an airplane i didn't like...
I think we should have a poll to see if we want another poll. Just kidding.
Hell If the Komet does not win I may take a crack at making it or something else small. I think I could make molds and vac form most all the parts.

All 3 of these I will make. Just trying to get all the ducks ion a row. The Spitfire would be the easier of all 3 then the FW-190. I would have to make the 163 from scratch but because of the small size it should not be that tough of a project.
Mine WILL HAVE A FULL COCKPIT .
No more polls but a few have asked about a He -162 the Salamander.
Any more votes for this? In a perfect world I would both but that does not work.

pickelhaube if you need any Vac forming I'd be glad to help out if you need assistance for some of the parts. I'd like to attept an aircraft someday that is needed and that you are not building.

That HE- 162 Salamander would be better than the ME-163 Comet IMO.
Plus if we really wanted one we could get it from you know who.
So that price is just for the kit on the Spit right?
Spitfire provided by customer?
I have one extra NKK Spitfire, just wondering how the deal would work.
"gib mir staffel Spitfire"
My German is not too good.

Hey Tambo thanks for that offer.aferguson wrote:i think the spitfire kit is the full plane, not just the custom bits. Same with the fw 190A kit, it's the full plane.
Yes I was planning on making a FULL KIT for the 190 and Spit. All you will have to do is assemble and paint.
That way you do not have to butcher a 21st model. If you could even find one at his point.
I'm not sure the USAAF clipped Mk.Vb trops at all. The clipped, cropped and clapped Mk.Vb LF's were almost always made from RAF aircraft in storage or ships in the process of being repaired.pickelhaube wrote:I would really like if some one can find a Spitfire with vokes and clipped wings in American colors.

They deff had them. Clipping the wings was often done in that theator. Just findining a pic of one is proving hard to do.Pa Deuce wrote:I'm not sure the USAAF clipped Mk.Vb trops at all. the wings were clipped to improve low altitude performance, as well as engine differences to suit low altitude combat. It may have just been a british mod, done in theatre....in the sort of the same way that sherman DD's and sherman crabs were stritcly british mods, although the US did use some of the DD's.
Anyway, i'm not sure i've ever seen a US clipped wing mk V spitfire.

Yep, "clipped" wing with faster rate of roll and dive, the diameter of the blower "cropped" to 9.5", and the Mk V's regarded as "clapped out", referring to their obsolescence when the Mk IX was entering service, yet the LF Vb's were in front line service into 1944.aferguson wrote:the wings were clipped to improve low altitude performance, as well as engine differences to suit low altitude combat. Also JSI is reported to be releasing the Huey again and if they do this will be back on. I hope.
