Mig -17 in 1/18 scale ?

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Aug 20, 2009 6:50 pm

I brought this up a while ago. Since then I have had quite a few guys who have showed interest.

Any more interest in a Mig-17.

Here is the old post.

Things have changed . No Mig -21 and no Phantam but we do have the Mig-13 and that we can work with.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

A Mig 17 would be cool and would go nicely with the 21c F-104s. While there are many differences between it and the Mig 15, I would think a passable M-17 could be produced by making new wings and stabilizers to fit to the 21c Mig 15 fuselage. It wouldn't be perfectly accurate, but would save on the costs for making an entirely new plane.

Sure, if one was out there I would definitely buy it. I am a sucker for anything in 1;18. However the similarity to the mig-15 would put it pretty low on my list of planes I would like to see produced. A-10, mig-21, etc. are much, much higher.

I would love to see a MiG-17 in 1:18. We badly need more non-US aircraft and armor in 1:18...

I could be wrong but I think that there is more non US aicraft out there than US.

As far a armor goes the Gerries have us out numbered in 1/18 scale 2-1.

Shermy Vs. Tiger and Panther. Albiet more variances of the Sherman.
