Poll: What is the next plane you guys want to see??
My Choice
For WW2..gotta go with the Hellcat from the Ironworks...but for modern, the Phantom II has my vote. No other recent aircraft had so many variants and so many users.

I'm sitting here thinking about how far the 1:18 plane hobby has come in the past few years. I'm finding myself holding out on new purchases of new releases (e.g. BBI Corsair) instead of snatching up everything out there for fear of the hobby going under (like when I hit numerous W-Ms to bag a Winter 109). I now have the luxury of feeling comfortable waiting for releases that I really want. I can pick and choose. It's a great position to be in. We are all pretty lucky.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to buy everything that comes out. But the reality of finances and space limitations get in the way.

I voted for the F6F Hellcat and I wont go into the reasons why. But its about time either 21st or BBI steps up and does this Fighter. I would have voted for the Zero but it looks 21st will be taking care of that in the future. The Hellcat would give BBI a chance to do something that 21st hasnt done yet.

Also, wasn't the Hellcat one of the most important Navy fighters in the Pacific theater, and didn't it have the highest kill ratio? All the more reason for either 21c or BBI to make one! It would have repaint possibilites plus alot of functions: landinggear, folding wings, tail hook, control surfaces, various ordinance possibilites.

You hit it right on the head tman. The Hellcat did have highest kill/loss ratio of 19-1 and it produced the most Aces of WW 2 thats one of the reasons it one of my favorite fighters of WW 2. If BBI OR 21st were to make the Hellcat the possiblities would indeed be endless. Thats why I voted for it.

The Hellcat would be nice, but why is it taking so long for the Avenger to hit the streets? How many times does 21st have to push back its delivery date, before no one cares about it anymore?
Instead of doing more and more, lets get those promised aircraft out NOW!

Hey 21st, if you are listening, if you want to line your pockets with more profits, open your ears too......

favorite aircraft
Well, I saw that this thread is still alive and I thought I'd mention my very favorite aircraft, even though it wasn't on the original list. But someone beat me to it (Aferg
)!
The Dauntless, scourge of the Imperial Japanese Navy! Also, the aircraft is small, so no box problem there. Plus it would be relatively easy to reproduce: no folding wings, simple landing gear. The preforated flaps may be a small challenge. The -2 to -4 versions are externally similar, so many early war to late war repaints would be possible.

I want a Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate (Frank), Ta-152H, Hawker Typhoon, McDonnell F-4 Phantom II (rhino), and Grumman A-6 Intruder, all in 1:18 scale!
And I'm not going to bed until I get them!
