Don't throw a monkey wrench into the gears!!!!!!
They Would have to start from scratch on the A-10 while they are probably far enough along on the F-15 and Su-27..No more delays

I want the F-15 and the SU-27 too, but there have been alot more people in this hobby wanting an A-10.
I hope we get them all.
yup I know but let JSI make the F-15 and the Su-27 before any other new aircraft....all we need is more delays in this hobby.
Why should the A-10 come before the planed aircraft that JSI announced?
when I bet the F-15 and Su-27 are proudly in the advance prototype stage.
Now if JSi had access to the Bbi molds for the A-10 then fire that baby up and spit them out like octomom.
but don't make JSI start from scratch on a new project, cause we simply want the A-10.. besides the F-15 is just as popular if not more then the A-10.....lets work together for the greater good of the hobby.

WE are lucky and I mean lucky that JSI has picked up the torch of 1/18th
lets not make unreasonable demands in today's financial market...I am sure one day we will have an A-10.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

I don't think it is unreasonable if they are asking which one fans would want more. Sounds like they are open to change.
From the way they are talking, the F-14 seems to be the only aircraft that is "set" for a certain release time. Even though it has been said the F-15 and SU-27 may be released late next year, it sounds like they are still up in the air.
Again, I hope we get all of them. However, I'd rather see the A-10 before the F-15, SU-27, or others if they are willing to jump on one. I'm sure many wouldn't mind that either.
Shame on you....forget the F-15E for ground support....the only true plane for that is the A-10!!
Go Ugly Early!!!

It woud be nice if they would add the A-10 to the release of the F-15 and SU-27 if those two do come out next year...
Not holding my breath on that one though.

Been reading this thread with great interest and just wanted to chime in about the Merit/BBi/JSI connection. If anyone remembers, Merit was/is the sole distributor for BBi products. They released lots of exclusive BBi/Merit products such as the 1/24 scale Mustang and BF-109s, 1/6 Shot Show 10th SF Figure (one of the most highly sought after 1/6 figures ever), BBi anniversary figures, as well as the F-18 and F-16s.dragon53 wrote:CORNBREADFRED:
Merit distributed the BBI F/A-18, so that doesn't prove that BBI and JSI are related, but as I said before, one poster said earlier he thinks BBI and JSI are related.
Now I'm not saying that BBi and JSI are indeed related but that they both have a strong relationship with Merit makes one suspicious...and not wholly unwelcomed ASFAIC!
Anyway, I'm just glad for the F-14 (inaccuracies and all) and welcome anything new in the future.

If anything Merit could be the go between since Bbi is not doing anything with their A-10 mold maybe they could license it out to JSI.

The F-15E can go supersonic, the A-10 is subsonic if they are 300 miles away which one will get to the troops in need first?Birddog wrote:

Ground troops don't care what type of air support they are getting, when the $hit hits the fan any ground support aircraft with bombs will do the trick.
Infantry: we need air support pronto we are being flanked by the enemy
ground combat controller: we got two F-15E inbound.
Infantry: that's a negative we need the avenger gun on the A-10
ground combat controller: it will take 15 mins for them to get to you.
Infantry: Ok send in the F-15E
F-15E pilot: target acquired, GPS locked in, bombs in route.
Infantry: Holy $hit those strike eagles just knocked the living $hit out of the enemy.
Infantry we get to live another day.
I think that the f-15E and Su-27 are more then likely to be made if the economy is sound late next year. also it would be a poor decision to make announcement of two planes and then pull back...we have seen this already........there are three things that will kill this hobby:
economy, bad business decisions, and making announcements and not following through.
We can all agree about the last two.

Supersonic has nothing to do with being a good close air support aircraft. It actually hurts it in most cases. What counts is being able to loiter and keep the enemy's head down for a long time. Especially when you are trying to knock out individual men on the ground.VMF115 wrote:The F-15E can go supersonic, the A-10 is subsonic if they are 300 miles away which one will get to the troops in need first?Birddog wrote:

Your F-15 may make a pass and leave, but the A-10 stays on station and annihilates. That is what ground troops need.
Again, the A-10 will trump the F-15E in Close Air Support operations any day.

Not with modern GPS and jdam. Even the B-1 can be now used as close support aircraft. the only thing that makes the A-10 stand out is its avenger gun, longer loitering time , and its durability, where it falls short is it subsonic speed and the time it takes to get to target. and its vulnerability to air to air combat.
if the need ever became an issues there are patrols that takes place in the remote areas in Afghanistan and many of those are hundreds of miles away from A-10 forward operating bases, and can not depend of the A-10 for air support. unless they are operating in the area before hand..but most of the air support for the ground is done by F-16, F-15E, F-18, tornado's and occasionally a B-1. A-10's operate closer to their forward operating bases.
If your operating far from an A-10 operating base speed has everything to do with it. especially if you are a grunt and you are about to be overrun... you don't want it in 10 min you want it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bird Dog you need to eat something your hunger strike is effecting your brain....lol
