Ah yes... but you see, the geeks rule the world ;-) It's not so bad being a geek in this day and age! *sigh* I may just have to show that Leia photo because it really demonstrates that point. But heck... just that photo of me and the model with the F-104 ;-)

The two short ones are actually females. You'd be surprised how many women take part in the hobby. Also, "armor" tends to bring out certain emotions in female onlookers. There is a surprising amount of groping and whispering done to armor wearers by female fans (believe me  ). Imagine their shock when a tiny voice comes back from inside the helmet "I'm a girl."

Darn straight! ...But I think we are all somewhat geeks around here. I can't imagine what its like not to have some sort of hobby or interests other than just borad categories such as "music," "sports," "clubbing," and the like. It was really interesting when some of my co-workers discovered my interest in aviation - their reaction was something more like why would you have any other interest besides making money?

Sorry for the rant, but I take the notion of having hobbies and interests seriously!

Britt,
Really nice photos. I have not been to the Star Wars Celebration. Only attended GENCON in WI in my younger college days. More gaming going on than costumes.
Thanks for sharing them with us.

OK---I am back from the great white north. If you ever have the chance to vacation on Manatoulin Island, do it! I was tickled pink that I caught a ton of bass. Then, I get home tonight and I read about the Zero. All I have to say is hot damn! This is great. And, P51, you are a very lucky man. We all are lucky for this bumber crop of 21st.

I've got enough photos from Comic Con of gals holding the F-104 to do that! :-P

And I agree... I really hope that 21st is back in force again next year! Comic Con, I think, is their big thing! Bigger than even toy fair!
And, P51, you are a very lucky man.
