Congrats Tinman, I love my BH avenger, of course I have the BH corsair to provide cover. :)

You must lead a charmed life. For that big arse bird to make it all the way from China to the states without any damage.

Although I would jump at the chance to get a BH Avenger, I do love my lost squadron one. I guess I'm into the whole X-Files/unexplained stuff, but it kinda adds a touch of intrigue to my collection. Amongst all the straight laced F-86 bla bla missions bla bla zero shot down in pearl harbour bla bla the meat ball on the wing is too small in diameter by a fraction.

Like Tman, I have waited this long to get an Avenger. After hearing all the problems, with QC, wings, etc, etc., I was willing to wait until I found a super deal. I found a super deal now from MD at a price of $35. For $35, I can stomach small QC problems.

I do like the Flight 19 Avenger....... or the price........ or the version ..... or the price...

Something about the Flight 19 planes just doesn't sit well with me. I'm really glad I decided to get the BH version. Now my recently-arrived BH Corsair from Monkey Depot has a companion!

And yes, I was on tenterhooks as I opened the shipping carton. I must say the seller did a good job in packing it.

I've wanted the Atlantic version for a while now also. Should have picked one up in 2006 when I saw scads of them on clearance at $25, but I didn't.

Lately I've been scoping them out on ebay, but I just couldn;t seem to find the right deal. Well, today I was out at an antique and craft emporium with my wife and kids, plus my parents (who are in town for a visit). Lo and behold, one of the vendors had a nice selection of mint-in-box 21C planes (most of which I already had).

I was actually hesitant, but my wife insisted "get your plane,", and the lone Atlantic Avenger there came home with me for $63. Maybe not the bargain of the year, but not a bad deal these days from what I can see.
Plus I could look it over in person before I bought it.

I also have all three and the Bunker Hill is by far one of the best paint scemes 21st has done. The white bottom of the plane just brings all the other blues out more. My second paint on the Avenger would be the Flight 19, I like the solid color on it and the Atlantic version to me looks to plain and flat. If you can find it get the Bunker Hill for sure!

i have all three too, now and i wouldnt part with any of them. Love my avengers, saggy wings and all.

Which reminds me, i was going to re-hang them by their wings to get rid of that sag. Must get on that one day..

Personally, Im biased when it comes to the Avenger. I always thought it was a wonderful airplane. No it wasnt sexy or very agile, but it was tough as they came and gave a solid powerful attack. Plus it was big and powerful, and being next to one, it just seems impressive.

Any Avenger you can get, get it! I have the BH, the Atlantic and all of the Flight 19 birds. Yes, it was an example of poor flying, but a lot of good men died that day and their memory should be honored. JMHO.
"I can stop collecting 1:18 scale anytime, really I can. OOoh, the new Stuka re-paint! I don't have that one.
