$8.99 is kinda steep. but then again, what are those other Unimax price tag stuff? those $4.99 and $7.99 price points. are they the 1:18 scale or diff. scale?

man, look at those unsold $7.54 Joes.
Actually a lot of the Joes look like figures that just started shipping and some that just got refreshed into newer assortments... I'd go with more likely they're new stock than "unsold". GI Joe's become insanely popular for Hasbro since the 25th anniv. line actually... Even at $7.50 they seem to move, which sucks because there's no way they should be $7.50 since Hasbro OWNS the property itself. :x

The last 6 months or so have been the first I've actually seen any pegwarmers for the GIJ line actually. I'm sorta shocked.

Now Hasbro, make us some Head Sculpt & Endor Uniform variations! The new Rebel Fleet Trooper gets the JJ Seal of Approval Though!

The DPV is scaled to the new figures, so it is significantly larger than the BBI version. It is also moulded in a desert yellow/tan color with black seats. I thought it looked rather crappy when compared to the BBI vehicle and even the PTE one.

Is there anybody that likes this new Freedom Ops line? It is good to see a new military line out there, but it is certainly targeted at a younger audience and not the collectors. Unimax's Bravo Team, at least, still keeps us in mind

These remind me or the CORPS figs. Very cheep looking. I don't even think they have fodder potential. I'd love to see FOV do some Bravo Team German Paras or some DAK.

OK, I saw them in person today. talk about looking like mutants! Arms and legs are totally out of proportion, and the hands look like Mickey Mouse hands!

And even more disturbing was that I saw the same line at Meijer today. Now if someone actually LIKES them, Meijer has the figures for a buck cheaper.

Saw these guys for the first time today as well. They look like giants compared to the FOV soldiers. The price is what really floored me though. A shocker to say the least.

The Freedom Ops Network toys are on clearance at Target now.

Figures originally $8.99 are now $6.99.
Vehicles originally $14.99 are now $12.99.

I like how they call the 5.56mm M249 a "browning 50 caliber machine gun"

Whom ever was in charge of buying action figures for Target really missed the mark with these. It would have been nice to see some 21st figs on the pegs instead.

Yes, hopefully they blame it on the line and not military figures in general. I went on an FoV run this weekend to try and nab some multiples only to find that other than the paras, they were pretty much depleted at all of the Targets I visited. That has to be good news. :)

Dear God. They have had those at my TRU for some time now, and I've seen them (or at least the vehicle) at Target.

They are unspeakably wretched.

That these are on shelves and 21C figures are not is a deplorable state of affairs.

Did my rounds at Targets today and noticed that the FON clearance is over.
The vehicles went back to the $14.99 price point, while the figures remained at their clearanced price at $6.99. It looks like FON wants to hang on and compete with Unimax a little longer at Target.

rubber?

Post by dandaman » Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:46 pm

They look like they're made out of rubber, like you could bend them like those bendy figures back in the late 70s.

how on earth do garbage, high priced figures like that make it into so many retailers and yet bbi are so hard to find and 21c couldn't get into anywhere except WM for a while and TRU a bit?

Somebody must be paying off the store buyers or something..

LOL, read this article: http://www.toymania.com/news/messages/10988.shtml
We created this toy line to appeal to boys ages six to 11, as well as collectible items for active and retired military members and military toy collectors.

Oh yeah, spotted the RTV in Target today. It was in a different packaging from the ones available at TRU. Oddly, this store didn't have a clearance for any of the figures or vehicles.

is this a twilight zone episode?

first of its kind???? In what parallel universe?

It's over priced garbage that somebody had to grease palms for, to get it into retail stores, where they will have to be slashed down to 50 cents to get them to move at all..

And these are the same big chain store buyers that turn away our beloved 1/18 scale, high quality stuff that retails for LESS.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??
