Guys,

It is the right of the posters of this board to alert others of individuals or companies that they feel that are not trading square. We have done a lot in the past to help collectors in dealing with idiots who rip people off. The individual using the handle "Audie Murphy" is a classic case in point. It is the function of these boards to give people the tools to collect and to collect smartly.

That said, the key is, is not to go overboard in piling on the negativity. Yes, tell people what, where and how, and leave it there. That way, people get the facts and not the emotion that tends to enflame the situation. PH is correct in bringing this situation to the board, just not to the depth that he did so.... Just my 2 cents.

PH....a little knowledge that might help. USPS does track packages above the 1st class mail (envelope) variety even if you don't pay the extra $1.00 for one. All that extra $1.00 does is give YOU an on-line tracking number. If the police got a copy of that receipt from Steve, get it!!! They can scan and fax it to you without problems and the USPS tracking number is there. Then recontact you USPS office and give them that number and they can track where that package went and ended up at. They may even be able to recover that package for you and (eventually) get it back. It is just as easy to send a high-value package to one of your friends and have them hold it or send it back. That gives you a false receipt you "claim" you sent it on. We in law enforcement have come up against many many fraud situations that, with a little effort, can be cracked wide open and solved. Don't give up the ship yet...there may still be options available. PM me if you need more help. I'm just next door in Texas dude!

Ive never had a real problem with the post office other than an item taking weeks when it should be days - sometimes regular post is quicker than priority - in fact i was told in some cases both "speeds" can be on the same truck depending on the location.

Bottom line - pay the extra and insure the items - oh and insure items you send.
