Sorry, I just can't get excited about Admiral's anouncements anymore. I now officially have an "I'll believe when I see it" attitude when it comes to Admiral. Admiral seems to have become like Lindsey Lohan going on a crack binge now and then just to keep her name in the news otherwise everyone would simply forget she exists. Admiral just seems to make these anouncements lest we forget the company exists. Considering only 2 planes have been produced by Admiral and about 30 "anouncements" the odds this one will pan out are looking mighty bleak.

And it begins...

Here is what I posted on www.collectoraccess.com ::

Before I hear the when?... empty promises?... etc?... I will prepare a writeup for this aircraft in the next couple of hours.

Regards,
Jason

Here was my short write up:

Dear fellow Members,

We have debated this write up for some time now. We know there has been frustration in the hobby with the lack of information, delays, companies going out of business, etc. We do not want to frustrate you the collector by giving false hope. This news is not news of false hope.

The Mosquito has been on our radar for years. We knew that Roy could do a great job with this aircraft and that it was one of, if not his favorite aircraft. We did not want to deny Roy the opportunity to produce his favorite aircraft had 21st wished to produce one. I know that sounds corny, but there are plenty of other subjects to produce. 21st's position in the market has changed and we feel it is appropriate for us to demonstrate our intent to produce this great aircraft.

This is about as much as I can say at this time. When, Where, How much will be discussed in the future. We are in negotiations with several companies at this time and I am not at liberty to discuss the details. I will release information as we deem it appropriate.

Warmest regards,
Jason

(The discussions and negotiations are very important to our survival in this industry. I knew the empty promises talk would begin soon after the release of this information) I will not lie when I say I am embarrassed to even show my name on this site at times.

I will release information regarding the status of Admiral Toys as soon as we feel it is appropriate.

Regards, (again)
Jason

Jason we appreciate the information and hope to see new products coming from AT soon, but many are tired of not seeing results. for whatever reasons.
we all know the economy is in the crapper but

many are skeptical based on the track record, just as many where skeptical of 21st...... I hope its not years until we see the mosquito

best of luck

I will be getting one of these as well

Ok so that's new 5 planes announced with intent to produce. SBD, Skyraider, Camel, Fokker, and now the Mosquito.

Ok so lets get it done. Make a decision, pick a vendor and go.

I saw a show on NASA when the engineers were working on the Apollo mission and the modules and landing craft keep being reengineered, redesigned and re worked etc... the enginneers would have just kept tinkering with it forever...until NASA said OK ENOUGH, GO with what we got now.

It's close to 3 years now on the SBD? So figure another 5 years for the Mossy?

I am definately in for two, possibly three or more if my budget (and wife) can take it. All other 1/18 vehicles have just been placed on back burner......

Now my RAF pilots have something to do other than stand around on my display shelf.

THANK YOU ADMIRAL!!!!!!!

VMF115,

I got the point with the first of your several posts. But thank you for staying so positive.

Greetings

A Mosquito is a very unique and interesting choice for Admiral to make. With the exception of the ME-262, no one really has had a plane from another nation for awhile. This will be a welcome model for everyone it is is produced and when it comes around.

If the version pictured is the prototype, it's pretty far along and looks pretty good. Hope we see this.

Corey

The tires look like they are moulded with 'weight' on them (flattened and slightly bulging). Excellent for gear-down display, and makes no difference in gear up as the bulge can be rotated up and hidden in the gear well.

Model will be very easy to modify into pathfinder and bomber versions with a few changes, most notably the nose section.

Operating cockpit access door is cool. If it has opening canopy hatches that will be icing on the cake..... (but it looks like entire canopy section is removable for interior access)
