Bird Dog just sent me the CIA Huey as the sacraficial lamb
This is the first Huey I have held in my hands. Are the rocket pods mounted upside down on the hardpoints ? They sit half way at the doors. Is this right ?

Huey site with specs
Hi Matthew,
here's a link to an excellent Huey site with dimensions, profiles etc.
Thought you might be able to use it as reference material:
http://www.vectorsite.net/avhuey.html
-tl
p.s. the rocket pods are correctly mounted when slung underneath the pylons.

Thanks Bird Dog for the test HueyB-29 wrote:One question.. Will we need to sacrifice a huey to make the Uh-1d? With the prices they're going for today it seems a little wasteful to sacrifice a full huey for just the rotors and tail..

Well you will use more thwn that. What I plan to make are the side fillets to make the D.
What I am gleaning from pics and with the 21st in hand. The cut line will be on the rivet line right in front of the nav lights.
Then cut right against the fusalage line. I am not sure about the bottom yet.
But you will need a full Huey to make the D.
Thanks for the post Trex.
It looks like the rotor is longer on the D. But like some other guys have said the C fuse is longer than the D . Go figure.. You would think that it would be longer.

I just went to the hobby store and got a Huey Walk Around book from Squa/Sig.
It has the line drawings of the " B" and " N ".
From Trex's post I think that the N used the same frame as the D. This would be good for me to scale up the line drawings to make things easier.
I know that the nose , engine , main rotor and rear rotors are different. But is the main body the same for both the versions

I'm sorry to piggyback on this topic, but does anyone know of the best colour match for the hogshead huey olive drab? I chopped off the grenade launcher but the model master paint I used is a little off. I suppose it could just be the gloss needs to be toned down, but if anyone has a better match, I'm all ears...
Off topic but check out these 21CT & BBI Helo conversion
Now these would be awesome conversion kits. What do you think Pickelhaube?

Take a look at all of his rc conversions. Apparently he used to be a jet jockey.

Re: Huey Helicopter
Has anyone done either m60 kit that attaches to the pylon? If so are there any pics? Also how do you do the mini gun conversion that attaches to the outer side of the pylons? All that together owould make for one SICK hog
. PH are you still offering them with the m60? And how much for a pavehawk mini gun and 50. Kits?
