Why would a company release a 21C corsair when the bbi mold is available. After all, everyone said bbi would do a run of an AC if someone else bank rolled, so why not bank roll the much better AC?

if JSI actually now owns the 21c Corsair molds it would make sense for them to use them, rather than using bbi's, who are a competitor.

We'll know all in time..

I've done business with them a few times now - shipping was reasonable and quick

I have the 21st version as well and i like the looks of this one too..No red boarders and better weathering on the JSI Corsair.
I'll pick one up.

So you guys are aware, I have adjusted weight and size on the JSI items after some feedback from Merit (their original solicited info was incorrect), so anyone who checks shipping for these items after roughly 1PM CST today should see slightly better rates than what was coming up before.

How long ago did 21c die? It seems like they may have sold off these molds prior to turning of the last light.

I was disappointed to see that apparently Boyington never flew "Lulubelle"---he only sat in the cockpit for a photo session. I was hoping the model would have some history behind it.

I was going to give a heads up regarding Small Joes the other day but you beat me to it. They seem to advertise lower prices on 1/18 scale aircraft then many of the other etailers. I am going to order my Corsair and P-38 through Small Joes.
I recently bought the BBI 109 from them (the 109s seem harder to find now). It arrived quickly and well shipped.

That said, BadCat used to always have the quickest turn around for me ... but I'm essentially local.

New photos of the JSI Corsair---the model doesn't look as impressive as the
weathered PR photos released earlier.

Dragon53,

Where did you find those pictures?

Is it possible they are shots of the original 21st century runs?

Merit, the distributor still has photos of the weathered corsair posted....

MOUNTIAN-MAN:

I got them on another message board which has Asian graphics, so maybe they're from a Japanese or Chinese website.

Look at the paint on the wingroots. Seems there's some bird-flyover problems on that field. :D

(yes, I know it's supposed to be weathering)

VMF155:

Sorry, there's no link to the website---someone posted the photos from the Asian website just like I posted the same photos on SSHQ from his original post.

Yeah, that Corsair was the original Boyington version from 21st. The weathering is a lot better in person.
