Some quick pics...should have gone outside.
Re did the switch wiring to remove the black negative from the battery off the switch. Direct short smoked the Jadgpanther.
Fixed that one too.
Notes on the KV-1, no room in hatch for figure and it has a metal barrel.
Runs good and everything works.
Ok, HL what's next!

Tankers
I'm customizing a T-34 and building a 1/16 Russian tank crew for it that a RCU member sent me, he is also sending me one of these to customize also, by looking at your photos i see it won't be that easy to put a commander in the turret, but if you could give me a measurement of the commander's Hatch (Hole where the switch is) , "Inside to inside" I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Hun

comparisons
I expect the KV-1 any day now, but i took some photos of other 1/16 and 1/18 Items, First photo " Work Bench "
"2nd photo"
1/16 FOV officer, 1/18 Custom Russian Tank Commander, and 1/18 custom "unfinished" Stug Commander.
"3rd Photo"
All 3 figures with a 1/16 T-34
"4th photo"
All 3 with 1/16 panzer III
"5th photo"
All 3 with 1/18 Stug IV
"6th Photo"
1/18 Stug and 1/16 Panzer
As you can see there is a noticeable difference in scales, I am working on casting 1/16 Russian tankers "half body" that will be built to work in the driver's position and Top turret without having to alter the RC components in the T-34, I haven't got the KV-1 yet but by the Photos and Info i got from scbvideoboy i might have to move a couple of things around to put a figure in it, so we'll see, I think the 1/18 Russian commander is a little small for the 1/16 T-34 and the money that these guys spend with me to customize these tanks they have to be as accurate as possiable, I'll post more photos when i get the 1/16 figures cast and the KV-1 in.

i was very close to getting the PZ III but after seeing pics of it next to the IV changed my mind - now if I do jump into the 1:16 world it would be for a russian tank - but i'm not a fan of having the cupola filled with an on/off switch is changing my mind again. Love to see more pics -

I would say yes to the over-sized barrels. I bought an M41 Walker Bulldog a while back and it only comes as air-soft and I had to get an aftermarket barrel for it just because it looked wrong. Not that there isn't more wrong with the tank dimensionally but at least it's one less thing wrong with it and I don't plan to shoot the little pellets.
So which is the best Russian tank? What, between the 2 HL versions (air-soft VS IR)? Depends on you and what you want from it.
From a driving aspect the KV-1 is better than the WSN T34.
