Jolly Roger low-vis = VF-103
Take your pick. CAG bird or Joe Pilot's bird?

there is no one scheme for the Tomcat that will satisfy everyone. Some want a high viz, others low etc.
Since we have low viz F-18's and F-16's a high viz would be nice for a change. Jolly Roger preferred but there are a number of nice ones to choose from.
I imagine there will be several repaints for this F-14, so in time everyone should be satisified.
And Isaiah, from your keyboard to God's ears (well, JSI's ears). USAF Strike Eagle and SINGLE seat Russian Su-27 first please. Let's not kill this line out of the gate with poor livery choices. Sure, some diehards will buy them no matter how they paint them but the bulk of buyers will not; they'll wait and S1 sales could be very poor as a result.

Personally I like the sharp black, white, yellow paint of the highvis just like of they ever made an A10 id prefer the cammo over the plain-ass grey.

My problem is will they get the look just right with Hi Vis???...Or will it look too clean??? if the shade is off just a bit.,,,it will look bad, or if there is too much or too little weathering.
I always found when painting US navy High vis paint schemes so much can go wrong.

I have my pre-order in top ensure that I get mine. This is the actual VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" paint scheme (barring personal id markings like the pilots name and numbers on the plane).

I don't care if they issue them pink . I want a good detailed release, but I intend to convert 2 of my first into VF-41 Cats. Black Ace's were the first Tomcat squadron to see aerial combat since Viet Nam when they tangled in 1981. Score: Cats 2 - Libya 0. Also first squadron to drop Air to Ground ordinance on enemy targets in around '95 I think it was. Pretty paint schemes are cool, but this aircraft was built as a "slobber-knocker" and pretty does not make squadron history. Of course I could be biased, but I will have 2 Black Aces hanging if this project does indeed come to pass.
Just take your time and give us a good and accurate replica of this aircraft JSI.

ditto
Nothing uglier than a low vis fleet Tomcat, stains, peels, chips, different shades of gray....and I love it!
I hope for both personally.

I was wondering when someone would post a pic of the 1:18 SOA F-14 - if the JSI model looks even close to that, I will be totally jazzed. I know it's hard to get a model this complex to market and it doesn't always work out as planned - but I am really excited about this model

I think a hi-vis paint scheme, no matter the squadron, hanging from the ceiling of my airplane room would have a wow factor of eleven. I just don't think the low-vis schemes would have quite the same effect. Don't get me wrong any 1/18 F-14 is going to have a high wow factor, I just think a high-vis scheme will have more.
Anyway if you all want a low-vis paint scheme just get yourself a can of grey and a pencil. Shoot the grey on the plane and pencil in all the markings.

I think the company will f up the high vis paint.. with so many detail needed to be shown and the complex bird the high vis will most likely be more complicated thus people will complain more when QC are off.. the more you see of the detail the more the company can go wrong with it. the company should come out with the low vis and an unpainted one so that people can add detail to the one they already have....
