M41 Walker bulldog tank figure

Post by 75th Ranger » Mon Jul 11, 2005 8:42 pm

Hello!
I just got another M41 ( total = 3), and this new one has a new figure concept in it. It is a Nam figure but to my surprise it is a vietnamesse figure head in a US soldier body. Like an adjuntee to the US Army, look cool with the black hat and the od green fatigues. He ia an advisor to my NAM forces now..HOOAH!
have you guys seen what i'm talking about?
keep me posted..long live the line NAM 1/18!!!!

Actually, thats probably the most accurate figure for the M-41. Those tanks were used extensively by the South Vietnamese forces, so an Asian figure would be accurate.

Now, are these new tanks and 1/2 tracks the colors of the origional Toys R Us variants?

Ranger - this is one we NEED a picture of!
I don't care about your low-res camera - just throw that bad boy under a desk lamp and snap us a shot. Very cool if they changed the pack-in :D

Also in VN M-41's were used extensively by ROK Marines. I was stationed near a unit of these bad boys, and they were badasses. All ROK Marines (in VN at least) were six feet tall and NOBODY messed with them. Now that is a sight, 6' tall Koreans on the look for trouble.

Interesting. About 3 weeks ago I bought another (my 2nd) series one M41 at the TRU in Utica (New Hartford) NY, just to have one in the box.
Would love to find one of the latest release (Motorworks / WalMart). Do the Motorworks M41s still have the interior?

They still have the interior but they are the winter scheme. They are also in new boxes like the products are in online.

Ranger, are you sure this isn't some custom figure that somebody made, stuck in the Bulldog and returned to WM? Sounds like an odd combo to have a VC head on a US soldier body...not really a South Viethamese looking soldier. Was it a green Bulldog or a winter Bulldog?

TTT: i didn't even know that Korea had troops in VN. I can imagine nobody would want to f*** with them! I thought only South Vietnam used Bulldogs in combat (and the Lebanese army during the civil war in Lebanon). Never heard of Korean Bulldogs in combat before. Interesting.

it was a new tank

Post by 75th Ranger » Tue Jul 12, 2005 12:08 pm

It was a new tank,
Old green scheme with this figure.
The tank was brand new with all the wrappings and so as the figure.
Plus the figure looks brand new and it has a darker color fatigues..darker od green. Also the head and arms are painted like the marine & modern figures, not like the old glossy platic from the origanl NAM series.
Hopefully the NAM line will make a come back!
take care,
HOOOAH!

ps: Aren't my RANGER RECON FUN!

It will. In addition to Platoon down the line, some retailers are expecting M-48s next month...it may be wishful thinking in terms of when, but safe to say we will see them eventually and NOT in Sahara stripes. :P

The new M-41 figure sounds cool and I'm impressed with the extra effort to include a decent pack-in. I wish we had a US tank from WWII with that kind of detail :?

Hey, 75th, I can't get to your photo album and the other links don't work. Also, does this tank have the same DPC number (I think that's what it is) as your previous ones. If you can get us that, I'll be willing to bug the heck out of my Walmarts to get one of these.

Thanks, 75th. Okay, I want my M41 and this figure NOW!!!!!! Seriously though, I wish 21C would give out a little better information on this - like whether or not all M-41s now have this figure, whether the OD halftracks 75th found now come with paratroopers, etc.

All the M-41's I saw today had the same figure that 75th Ranger saw. This guy does look VC. I checked about 6 boxes. All were the same and all were $22.00! The toy mgr I talked to said all the items showed as (DELETED) items. Weird right? I have my fingers crossed that I might be able to pick up some $10.00 Shermans in the near future. :D
