$99 is a bit more than I paid for mine from my local Hobbytown USA store last year, but considering it has to be one of the harder Avengers to find and the increasing costs of all XD planes, $99 seems like a good deal. While all the 21c Avenger paint schemes were good, this one is THE BEST. It is the classic Pacific tri-color scheme and just fits right with the looks of the Avenger.

I often wonder how 21c would have fared had they released either the "Flight 19" the "Bunker Hill" or even the unmade "George Bush" Avengers to mass retail at Wal Mart instead of the "Atlantic" version. One of those more puzzling decisions on the part of 21c...

Dude! I had to jump on that. I ordered one. I've been wanting one of these like forever.

I went back to see if they had more, but they were gone.
I hope I got in under the wire, wouldn't be the first time I got a notice of not in stock, order cancelled :(

Oh please, please, please

Tman, What I find Puzzling is the fact that the "Atlantic" version was never sold on the East Coast  that was most likely walmarts doing. I think the Pacific paint scheme should have been first. After all when you think of Avengers you think Pacific Theater.

I've got 2 Avengers coming via Monkey Depot.....Atlantic and Flt 19 Lt. Gerber.

I don't know about the east "coast", but I found atlantic avengers at walmart here, only a couple at one- none at another 7-8 walmarts.

I think a Dover Delaware WalMart got 12 Atlantic Avengers. I bought one and the others sat around for months and they finally sold them off for $25 each (I think about 8 of em). I should have bought the whole lot, but I guess that is just one of the list of I should have ..... :(

On the flip side though I am very happy to have what I do have..... :D

I really wish I didn't have to do things like work and provide for my family as I missed out on this one. I have been waiting for one a long time. I did order one from overseas on Ebay. I am glad I did as I won't have a chance the way rare planes are selling so fast.

Fleeting visit from the fleet...

Normandy...Atlantic Avengers actually made it to the Centerach WM...I even PM'd you at the time because I knew of your interest, but the e-address may have been old...the message is still in my sentbox...you're right about the Pacific colors being more appropriate, but I wonder if it made a difference to the average WM customer...either they were gonna buy a huge plane (for themselves or their kid) or they weren't...sometimes I think we as boardmembers & enthusiasts overvalue our finicky tastes... :)

That's 'cause in 2006 dozens of them were piled up in the WM in Auburn NY, and ended up getting clearanced. There were stacks of them in the aisles! Same with the rc Panzer (gray, short gun) around the same time (as I recall). It was just nuts. I got a lot of great deals at that store. Those were the days....

I never saw them at any of the six Wal Marts in my area. My local Hobbytown eventually got in all three Avenger schemes, but never Wal Mart. A much smaller town 40 miles south aparently got in a bunch of the Atlantic Avengers, but I had one by that time

I got my Atlantic in a Wal-Mart outside Atlanta - part of an endcap full of clearanced Atlantic Avengers.

Currahee, I think I missed that PM but Thank You. Was the Centerach walmart location a test market for 21st products or just the only place on the Island they showed up? Is there an average walmart customer
Tinman, I never Knew that the Avengers made it into NYS. I just knew that the 5 walmarts nearby never had them nor did the ones closer to the City.
You got RC Panzer IV's.........I only found 1 and with all these walmarts around here that was a find!
Well back to the topic....Avengers, Bunker Hill................. 8)

Trailer trash in search of a double wide...

Normandy,
Centereach was just apparently the only place on LI to get the Avengers, but as an aside, they were one of just a few test market stores when WM first tested the 21CT waters with the original Corsair...ah, I remember it well...PS, before we thoroughly hijack this thread (although it seems to be a dead issue now), let me report my research: in my AO, the average WM customer visits the store twice a week, has three teeth missing, and shoplifts 4 items per visit...but enough about myself...

It's all Avengers it's all good I say.
Got two of those Atlantic's. I figured one would be a good one to repaint in a 1942 Midway scheme.

Was the Bunker Hill an exclusive? I read conflicting stories.

Some said it was a Bad Cat exclusive at one time. I seem to remember them having it on order then a problem with it and they got cancelled there and were sent to all the e-tailers. I don't know the true story but it was something like that.

What's the real scoop?

BadCat had it set up as an exclusive, but the project was delayed. When it was released 21st had decided to make it a general release. I remember reading BadCats forum about how supprised and mad they were about the change.

Hey! you don't think that the 7-8 that MD showed to have were those that that chinese ebay seller had, do you? You think that MD bought 'em and sold em to us as a favor to avoid that queasy feeling some of us may have about sending a money order or dealing directly with a chinese contact?

Only the 1/9 Abrams was clearanced at the local WM here. Those Atlantic Avengers all sold at the what, $79.00 starting point (which is what I paid when they first came out) because I knew they wouldn't last long.

That was the only version sold here. Too bad, I think it's my least favorite paint scheme too.

I know that I bought one of the Chinese ones and at least one other post here stated the same. I kept waiting for them to show up in the states (MD or anywhere else), but I had to pounce on Sunday when the Chinese supply got down to two. Would have saved $15.00, but I am glad I got one.

That's what I suspected.
I remember watching it, because I was going to pre-order it as the arrival date got closer, then it changed.
They were $79 or $89 then I do believe, which I thought was pricey then, and the price never went down anywhere like the Atlantic did. Kept hesitating till all of a sudden they were gone from everywhere.

A WM near me clearanced out the Atlantic scheme eventually dropping them to $15. I loved it at the time but I guess that's part of why we don't have 21C anymore.
