A Little Desert Fun

Post by tmanthegreat » Sun Apr 05, 2009 3:31 pm

I'm currently on a family-related trip visiting some relatives in Tuscon, Arizona. Couldn't bring too many of my own things, but I did sneak my BBI Desert Patrol Vehicle along, and tried to get some realistic diorama photos out in a real desert

Enjoy :D

The BBI DPV's are getting harder to find, but really are neat little vehicles, especially when tricked out with figures and accessories. They are small, but correctly scaled, and has lots of functionality. The vehicle is much better than the PTE version and that larger one currently at Target. You newer members looking to fill out your 1:18 modern vehicle collections should track one down. It comes with its own figure, but I liked giving mine a full crew made of FOV Bravo Team USMC tanker figures.

Great shots TMan. For scale and accuracy it's hard to beat those little things. And I love the Eric Bana figure they come with. He also has the best Spec Ops helmet we've ever gotten. Good stuff.

Thanks for the kind comments on the photos, guys :D

My BBI DPV is in pretty much in the original condition... There is not weathering or changes to the paint scheme. I've added the grenade launcher, the baggage, and changed the figures to suit my taste.

If you can track one down, it is worth it
