1/18 SCALE JAGDTIGER

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Apr 09, 2009 11:23 am

I have been kicking around this idea since 21st announced the KT. Well it looks like the KT will never see the light of day.

I have already made the master track links for this and the bogie and rear deck radiator covers.

I have been talking to a few guys who want (and have) to everything that I can create.

I have been excited to do the Jagd for a while as stated. This will be a big ticket item. IT IS A BIG TANK.

HOW MUCH WILL YOU SPEND ON A 1/18 SCALE JAGDTIGER ?

I was even thinking of doing a KT myself but don't think that it will pay off. I sold a lot of Wirbelwinds when I made them. The price was low but a lot of guys antied up. I guess that I could do a crazy special on this but to make it worth while I would need to sell a bunch to make it worth while like the Wirbel..

I say $200 + shipping.

I say up to $200 + shipping. If you can do it so you make a few bucks, do it. We'll buy it.

I'd like to see a King Tiger first (in Battle of the Bulge paint scheme)---especially since the 21st Century King Tiger is no longer on the horizon.

$200 may be a little thin. There will be over $40 worth of resin per kit. A unit of resin is $36 and it will take about one unit to pour such a large model. So reality IF IT CAN BE DONE IS $250 . IF I CAN SELL OVER 12 OF THEM.

I have been talking to the Hun. I think almost everybody knows what kind of work he does.

He said that for a generic 21st Century type paint job, he can probably paint it for $65 each. NO shipping.

Negative kit only. Other than the Wirbelwind my kits are simple.

YOU WILL NEED TO BUILD THIS KIT YOURSELF

You need to do like the 1/16 RC tanks do, offer a basic no frills kit and then offer the upgrades to the people that like to detail out to the max.
Some people are satisfied with the basic model and then you have the purists that have to it correct to the last detail.
