I'm happy MD has these great deals, it's a great opportunity to pick up some pieces that were out-of-reach before.
On the other hand I' don't know about all these up and down availabiilties and prices. Yes, if their inventory system isn't exact and shows they are out of something, only later to find a few more, that's understandable - but raising prices 'halfway' through the sale doesn't sound right to me. Yes, they are charging what the market will pay and if they can get a few more dollars for something more power to them. But I think it makes it unfair to charge different prices, within days, for the exact same items. Then again no one every accused me of being a good businessman, either.

consider this benefit/curse- outselling your coworkers in the orifice, telling your team leader you have ADD in a humble friendly manner; and having your superiors turn a blind eye to the internet connected laptop and the am radio set at low comfortable volume.....monkey depot, this forum, drudge, LGF, et al.. while working with phone calls.. ADD is a wonderful thing, except in an extreme form, I guess.

Thanks Grilledcheeze
Finally ordered the Lost Squadron Avenger.
I was holding out for one that has the alien though. The Taylor one doesn't.
Whether he's green or red I don't know, but I know I wanted one.
My rich buddy whom I turned on to XD, then went hog wild has the whole squadron. (every jet, every helicopter etc.) that's where I saw them. Had to have one!

Ouch! Though if the bidding doesn't go too high, that might be a good deal.
My buddy got the whole set for $350...well plus shipping... I can just guess how that went, I didn't ask.

Re: ...
Fine, cancel it! I already got what I wanted!mikeg wrote:dicks??????? be nice, dammit! or they'll cancel the blammo sale and take their ball and go home
I'm just annoyed by their practice of listing something, then pulling it and raising the price once they realize it's actually selling
(SS sets, Panther, etc.)

Some of you guys just crack me up....
"MD is still selling these less than 1/2 of retail price, those Bast*rds!"...
So what if they raise the price to more reasonable prices?? Many of the initial prices were so ridiculous and certainly couldn't last. As a matter of fact, the 88's and Panthers even now at $45 are 50% off what anyone else was selling them for just a month ago.
Lets keep things real people....

I almost posted basically this exact thing... $40 for that Panther is about what the S1 Panther cost when it was out, and it's half what most of the other etailers are asking for that Panther... Or near that anyway. That seems like still a good deal to me.hworth18 wrote:Some of you guys just crack me up....

I have a general collecting rule of thumb I've lived by since my earliest days collecting SW. I don't pay over retail for it... Even with shipping, that $40 panther's a better deal than $70 + shipping (or whatever it costs elsewhere), so that's still a good deal to me.
Hell, 2 of the 88's for $80 shipped was worth doing cartwheels IMO... That's about the price I feel was fair for two of them, not one.
