Tons of IJ at KB all 50% off and I even saw wave #2 of the 12" line with the Russian covered in ants.

Well?

Post by dandaman » Fri Jan 02, 2009 6:39 pm

Well? What is everyone seeing out there? Are the IJ figures flying off the pegs because of the markdowns or what?

So far, neither Walmart or Target has put any of the IJ stuff on clearance. Meijer had 50% off all IJ figures, so I did pick up a German for $3.44. I did find the cloth covered truck at Target, and paid full price ($19.99) since it's the only one I have ever seen in the area. Plus, according to people on e-bay, it's incredibly rare and worth every penny of $50 or more

I just like it because it's as close as we are going to get to a 1/18 German truck anytime in the next half millennium, I fear. and it even has a hitch to pull my PAK-40...

Nabbed a coupla russian infantry for $3 each. Saw a few cloth trucks in WM a week ago, sorta regret not picking them up at the time. We'll see how rare they end up being.

I found 1 IJ TOD (Willie Scott) figure in Krogers today.
They had their toys 50% off (got some cool new CARS for my son for 1.89 as well :D )
They didn't have anymore of the TOD figs, just Willie.
Well guess I got more Krogers to search!

Hey all,

I really need the Temple of Doom wave to complete my collection and am willing to buy, or trade from my large stock of stuff. PM me if interested.

(P.S. I have a solid record in the buy and sell forum.)

Thanks!

Old News

Post by dandaman » Wed Feb 04, 2009 9:25 pm

This is probably old news to everybody, but IJ figures are $1.00 at all the local WalMarts. And the funny thing is, they're very well stocked.

Not much

Post by dandaman » Sat Feb 07, 2009 10:09 pm

It wouldn't take much money to clear out the rest of the $1 Indy figs in my area.

Any objections?

In my AO the Indy figures are done... at 3 different stores wal, TRU and Target there were no indy figs at all. KB is now closed but their Indy stock was sold out weeks ago.

My wife just returned from a Marshall's with 2 $7.99 canvas trucks and a $2.00 Vogel. All of the items are marked down from the original Marshall's prices. Good hunting.

when it rains, it pours! Thanks for the info on the Marshall's clearance price, for $7 I'd probably pick up a few more trucks if I can find any around here.

What's up with people finding good deals at TJ Maxx and Marshall's? Who shops there?

If it weren't for 32x and XD I would have asked the same question about Walmart. I have shopped both stores for years for "bargains" in men's dress and casual clothes. I also have shopped for years for cheap name-brand toys for my boys, nephews and nieces, and numerous birthday parties. These stores also are purchasers of various European toy brands, like Bruder (?), which has a whole line of nice 1:16 plastic modern vehicles (like Tonka).

I can't say I've gotten clothes there but I've bought a lot of good deals on toys at those stores for several years now, and I've gotten some home decor stuff for my gf when she was starting her rooster collection for the kitchen. Came in handy then... Clothes, I think it's hit and miss because the inventory is so widely varied... No reason not to stop by though.

I got a pile of $1 figures at WM the other night... Mostly Mutt's to use for customizing, but I wound up with a nice pile of Germans, Ugha's, a Cairo Swordsmen...

Wish I'd have gotten a monkey man and Cemetary Warrior. Neither was easy to find here. Russians too were long gone, but hey, the rest is good custom fodder so I'll be thankful for what I did wind up with.

RECON UPDATE:

Walmart has reduced deluxe figures to 3 bucks here in Nor. California.

That means motorcycles if you can find them. One Walmart I went to did not put new stickers on the toys so it wasn't clear from the racks what the price was. But ring up at $3. Scored 2 motorcycles. Another Walmart did not have $1 tags on any of their regular figures (they still had the $3 tags). Again they rang up at the $1 mark. The selection was pretty good. Picked up a few german soldiers and naked native dudes. Wish they woulda had some russians and cemetery warriors but no luck there.

ALSO I found Platoon figures marked down to $1. These figures have been gone from almost all Walmarts in the area except one. And they put all 10 or so on clearance. All for me. Wooo-Hahaha.

Now I just gotta hide all this crap from the missus.

Found four of the IJ German motorcycles at Walmart today for $3 along with a couple Indy on horseback and an IJ w/Temple Trap! They only had two individual figures for $1 left. The very small Indy vehicles were clearanced for $1.
Also found about seven of the XD DAK figures reduced to $1.

In Big Lots today I found canvas trucks ($10), jungle cutters ($10), troop carriers ($10) and numerous figures for $3, including the Temple Guard and the Giant Sikh bad guy from The Temple of Doom. Good searching as more of the obscure figures continue to show up.
