The wife and I only have one credit card left that hasn't been paid off/cut up and we decided we were not gonna use that sucker for anything but emergencies.

But I'm really starting to think this is an emergency... :D

Oh yeah, baby, it's gonna be an emergency. 8)

LOL - yep using credit. I should not be getting this stuff but can't say no.

Hopefully you can private reserve them in a year when they are one of the most rare 21C items.
I wonder if once all is said and done at M.D., that any etailer with 21st stock automatically converts all their stock to 'private reserve'.

Anyway, interesting goings on these past few days. I feel for the poor bastard who finds out about 1:18 in the future as it will be all too expensive to really get a good collection going.

Whoops, I didn't even notice what I was posting in... 88's for $30? Yikes. Trying to post while on break isn't a good thing. ;)

Well it does seem a lot of 21st stuff's getting liquidated through the monkey depot. I'm glad I waited. 2 88's shipped for the original price of just one is a hell of a lot better deal. And plus I'll actually have an 88 now (2, yay! Maybe one can be Panzer grey now), but yeah the liquidation is probably not a good sign I guess.

Who knows though. Stranger things have happened I suppose.

With lots of people buying 4 Panthers and 88s, are they buying them for repaints or for resell?....there's going to be a glut of them even for resell on ebay.
Is my reasoning correct?

I was thinking that too - this stuff will get pretty pricey if 21C closes and this sale ends.

I suspect its 21C thats in trouble, most of the blowout prices have been on their items, and now the 88 is getting dumped. Clearance prices on old merchandise is clearing inventory space, clearnance prices on brand new items is a last ditch cash grab effort to stay afloat.

I noticed the prices on the SS figures took a large jump today. It seems that MD is trying to “feel out” the market for these items. They may be taking the mad dash of Small Scale HQ members as a huge demand for the products. It should be interesting to see if the price on the 88 goes up.

You are right but remember what happened to the Spitfires ,M-113 , Red Fw-190 , Huey and the Cobra. . There were Zillons of them I remeber buing the white nose spit for $20 off of e-bay. Now all of them close to or over $100

We're doing our part, we're "stimulating" the economy. :P

It is logical to think 21st is at it's dying breath especially considering a fairly local etailer is cleaning them out. Easier to come pick the stuff up then it is to mail it to retail outlets and online etailers...especially if you've already let your shipping/receiving help go...

Good point. It doesn’t feel like a MD liquidation to me. It seems like something happened and 21c is clearing out for some quick cash. Maybe it’s to help them keep going or maybe it’s to lock up and get out of dodge.

I get paid tonight and will place 1 large order. I already bought the Smoke II F-104 and I have a BBI Corsair. I had a M-48, but painted and sold it as a Cobra custom.

My question to you guys is what 4 or 5 pieces are must own for the 21st collector? Is the Avenger worth it with the funky green color and droopy wings?

Do you think if i wait I will get an F-86 and Mig 15 for cheap?

Well, I just checked BCA. All 1:18 plane prices just jumped up. The end is near.

I always thought BCA was priced too high. I think they recently raised the prices on the Panther and 88 too. I dont remember them being 100 and 130??? Maybe they are sensing the end and are "Private Reserve" pricing everything now?

Well, SMALL JOES still has reasonable prices :D I wonder if I should grab another ME 262 nightfighter before the end comes???

I would recommend getting the Avenger. It can still be displayed with wings folded and still looks ok to me with the droop, just me. This is one of the Flt 19 birds, it's a semi weathered navy blue, not green. As the biggest 1/18 WW2 warbird made to date it's a must have imo.
