Realistically, the color of the BBI Night Stalkers Little Bird is pretty accurate. If you look at this pic:

You can see that the actual black markings on it (UNITED STATES ARMY) etc are much darker than the paint on the airframe.

I have three of these and they all look pretty much right. The paint is like a super dark olive drab, almost black but not quite. If it isn't the exact color of the MH-6s in real life, under most lighting conditions it is impossible to tell the difference.

My real complaint about these is that the markings are in white -- in real life the MH-6s fly around with either no markings at all, or black markings. These white ones take away from the realism and make them look a bit too toy-like IMO.

Most all of our tail markings (US ARMY & Tail numbers) are Grey. The Birds are all painted a flat CARC black.
Good trades: C00per, pcb122605, digger, vulgarvulture X2, General Blasto X2, Light.Inf.Scout, V2 Man, Sentinel, xddave, grunt1

Good to know. I think the slight OD tone to BBI's scheme makes them look properly weathered. Like this pic:

It really is flat black, but I guess it doesn't stay clean very long :)

PHAID:

Thanks---I'll keep your photo in mind every time I look at my grey/brown MH-6 and think how realistic the BBI "weathering" is.

Hehe.

I was reading back in the thread and saw that you did the same thing with your Little Bird that I do with mine -- a couple of Chopper Harris driving and four Danny Lynch riding the pods.

I actually wound up replacing my Choppers as Little Bird drivers with a couple of the old jumpsuit wearing Delta Force guys, wearing the black helmet+NVGs from the Little Bird pilot. I think Chopper is just too bulky to look really good in the Little Bird, so I use those figures on my MH-60.

PHAID:

I had a very hard time getting the two Chopper Harris pilots into the MH-6 cockpit, but once I got them in, they look pretty good. The only minor problem is their arms can't be articulated into the perfect positions. However, the four Delta Force figures on the benches are the main focus--and they look really sharp in adding a realistic look to the overall MH-6.
