Hey everyone! I've been gone for a long while due to a lot of issues but hope to get involved back into the community. So, in a way I have to reintroduce myself since I've been gone for a long while now.

I am still working on custom models. I have been working on 1/18 scale BTR-60's, well to the best of my ability. I'm hoping to have pics up soon.

I'm still hoping that the 1/18th modern market is still strong.Have concerns that it is starting to become more uncertain. That FOV and BBI are all that are left.

Thanks. No not a newbie. You all have more info on the hobby than I have now. I got impatient waiting for some new stuff so I started building my own models. Just takes a long time.

I've been checking in from time to time when I had chance to but nothing to really post about. I used to be around when groundpounders had the original XD forum (I cannot remember the name for the life of me) and had been in the hobby since; man since the 1/18 WWII stuff first started coming out.

I've shifting my collection to Sci-Fi and Modern military. What I can't find, my wife helps me with scaling drawings of the vehicles or the old military vehicle cards to help get the measurements I need. Then I started building the models based on the new 1/18 scale measurements. I have an excel sheet that does the conversions for me now. Not exact, but, some of the BTR-60's are coming along. Working with an exacto knife and styrene plastic it's taking a while. Wish I could find a way to do a mold for it or something to reproduce the model quicker. It's not exact, but, a lot more than what's out there already. Hatches open, crew compartments and the works.

I've been working on a process of duplicating the exact measurments so I can reproduce the models. one was built and finished (just basic OD green) and the other is still being built. Two years have passed since I really had any time to focus on the hobby but I'm hoping to get back into finishing the models soon. Unfortunately, over the past couple of years, a lot of the measurments I saved were misplaced. It had all the angles, conversions, measurments, everything. I may have to take the one I have a work in progress on and break it down and basically do a sort of reverse design.

If you have a Kinkos close by you can enlarge your scale prints and use this to go off of.

I've been hoping for some Russian or Chinese Modern now for a long time. I always loved the BTR-60, BTR-80, the BMP's, T-72 - T-80's (I thought I heard of T-90 that was in the works a while back but not sure).

The BMP is more difficult due to fact I don't know where to get 1/18 scale roller wheels and treads. If anyone has any info on that as to were I can find those supplies it would be appreciated!

Yes, I will definitely have some pictures up of the BTR-60's soon. Also had some Sci-Fi vehicles in the works.

I am going to compare the dimensions of the 1/20 scale Trumpeter Type 96 MBT with the PTE Chinese MBT to see if they are somewhat comparable in size.

Thanks for the info!! I'm not sure if you remember after the time that has passed away from the boards. I was the one a while back telling you about the dimensions of the 1/20 Scale Trumpeter Type 96 actually coming pretty close to scale to 1/18 scale T-72 if could be modified. I can't remember if it was to small for the Type 96 at 1/18. But at this time, it's the best thing out there.

I had to modify the tanks so the molded hatches would open and to allow for figures to sit inside the tank. I had pictures a long while back, just can't find them now.
