can you make a kit to turn a black/pavehawk into a seahawk?
I have no idea what the difference is. Got any pics ?
BTW I read over Mig 29's post on his mini. His barrel rotates. This will NOT be the case with mine.
I guess that I could do this but the guns WOULD be more than the helo.I am sure that I can match his detail but I need to make mine so I can mass produce them. By doing this some details may have to be sacraficed. But fear not if it will take to a mold it will be done.

Pickelhaube,
The HH-60 has quite a few fairly major modifications. Check out MIG29K's post from a while back. It shows everything he did. This is also when he built the M134 miniguns (same build). It's not just moving the tail wheel up. The doors are totally different as well as the ordnance wings.

Well guys this will see the light of day. I have sent off for a Pavehawk 1/35 model and Matt from Foxhole is suppling the helo for this project as well as a 1/12 figure so I can scale up the mini gun.
This is in the works and hopefully work will start next week.
I think we Foxhole and me will sell 3 kinds of kits.
1. With everything, fuel probe radomes and mini guns.
2. Fuel probe and radomes.
3. Mini guns.
The thinking behind this is if you get the mini guns you will have to cut plastic on the helo to mount the guns.If you get the probes and radomes only all you would have to do is just mount them.
The third you can use the guns in any helo.
Let us know Fox Hole Toys ( Matt ) and me ( Matthew) if you are interested in them.

I definately want the guns. If I can afford the rest, I'll take it all. I will not have my Pavehawk for a week or 2, so can someone show me how to open the windows?

Great to hear. I'll definitely get either #1 or #2 depending on the price. May get all three.
Can't wait.
I'm guessing these will be unpainted? Maybe you could figure out the best paint match for the BBI pavehawk camo colors for us and let us know so we can get the right colors to match it ourselves? I know this may not be as easy as it sounds - just thought I'd ask.

The plan is to paint all of the parts flat black. That should be a good base color.

How much for the kit to do
this? I think Paul nailed it when he said this guy has income to spare.

Hey Spud
I was planing to do the center view finder thingy. I am not sure how to make that shiny lens though. Unless you guys have any ideas I was going to leave that up to the modeler.
I do have a bunch of scrap clear styreen left over from vacuforming that I guess I could use. Maybe I will just cut a round dick and put it in the kit and let the modeler use it or not.

Hey Mat'
The FLIR pod is basically a barrel/cylinder with a domed head so vacuum-forming the whole thing should be a viable proposition.
For FLIR lenses on solid items I usually use some chrome sticker medium that have which has been recoloured with textures, to try and mimic the highly (mirror like) reflective glass that appears to be used on these sensors.
So I’m good to go and use either a solid resin cast or vacuum-formed version of this item.

I was not going to vacume the whole sensor. I was just going to use the clear plastic as a lens.

Hey Sud,
The pics you have are great. I still need some good shots of the rear of the boom. There is a fantastic shot of the probe tip. Alot of work inthat tip.
I guess I could do the big nose radome. Maybe in a second series. It would determine how the first series takes off. 2 versions of the same radome is a bit much. But if there is a big call for it you know it will be done.

It looks like there are 2 mounts for the mini cannon. One that is totaly external with the ammo can outside of the cab and one that is internal mounted on a square tube type mount. Mig 29 did the internal mount.
The external one is good that you do not have to cut up the cab. But it is outside with a large belt feed , large ammo can and large mounting support. More work = more money.
The internal one's mount is a lot simpeler but you have to cut the cab to get it inside. Again this is the one Mig -29 did. Simple = less money.
Which one will it be guys ?

Mat’
I’ve always thought that the probe tip resembles the tip of a ball point pen, I wonder if there are any oversized pens out there that could be used as a basis for this part, alternatively the seeker head of a 1/48 scale AA missile (Russian) may be a good source as well.
I'm sure I found a close up of the rear part of the fuel probe somewhere once, as I recall it consists of a fairly hefty cast collar attachment, I'll dig around and see what I can find.
As far as the radome goes, seeing it is the same radar unit on both helo's the bulb cover is the same for both, with only the rear mounting being different. if the radome was made in two parts (bulb and mount) this would then lead to les duplication.
