Aferg,

If you're out and about, you may find Indy stuff on clearance... I think at WM up there. I'm getting a couple German cars sent my way for $5 each and multiple canucks have mentioned the same deal. I'm also hearing Temple of Doom figures have been found up there for $4, and deluxe figures were also cut in price and it's a pretty wide-spread thing.

Good luck if you're looking for anything. I'd like more trucks and cars but 2 cars to custom up are fantastic as it is so I'm counting myself uber lucky. :)

I found the TOD wave at a Fry's food and drug store.

I would start checking thier, and or any Kroger brand grocery.

If anyone still has any interest in the Indy product line KB toys has 30% off everything.

So I got my Temple of Doom wave in the mail today... Wow, what a nice set of figures. These are easily the best of the line... I guess the positive note they go out on is nice, but really I think this line had so much potential to it that now won't be tapped (unless there's an Indy V, which they may do).

The Thuggee Guard is probably my favorite, however Molah Rahm is really nifty too... Indy's cool because he's a unique Indy compared to almost any other in the line.

Anyway, some quick rundown here:

-Paintjobs... Outstandingly good on all figures. These far surpass the flawed paintjobs of the previous waves. Even the TLC wave had paint issues but not this wave for the most part. What really stands out though are the decoes on the bad guys more than anyone. Some of them have very intricate patterns that are very nicely done.

-Sculpts... Again, outstanding. There's lots of "layering" going on with separately sculpted parts that, ultimately, could've been done as a single sculpt. Instead Hasbro sculpted Molah Rahm's robes separate over his sculpted torso, and so there's a layered look and depth to the figure you don't see often. The same was done for the Thuggee Captain.

-Working holsters, etc... Both Thuggees have working hooks for their daggers and swords, and that rocks. Molah Rahm's dagger can be tucked inside his robe so he can hold his other accessories... Very cool. What I thought was a nice cool surprise though is Indy's sachel, which has a flap you can lift and see the Sankara stones tucked into it! :D Nice detail there.

-Accessories... Everyone comes with something neat except for Willie really. The guards both have swords and daggers with the Captain also having a whip accessory. Indy has his coiled whip accessory, sachel, and his machete. The winner though is old Molah with his flaming heart. The heart's even painted really nicely. He sports his dagger though, a cloth sash, his skull hat, and the chalice of Kali... The heart is easily the coolest accessory he has though, and he holds it pretty well also in his right hand. Makes me wish we had the cage and a victim for in it. ;)

-Articulation... Besides Willie and Molah, everyone is pretty well super articulated. No gripes here.

In general the line's at least going out on a good note, but it's a shame the best wave will be the toughest to find. I got mine at a great price, but others aren't going to be so lucky if they want them unfortunately. Pretty much every etailer is asking an inflated price for orders for this case right now, but I think it's worth it personally if you're wanting them, and really the prices I've seen aren't going past normal retail THAT much.

I also got Vogel and Elsa who I didn't have yet, and both are great. I'd love an extra Elsa for customizing, but that's neither here nor there. My Vogel is going to get customized I believe though as I have the BP version already and his plastic's more accurate in color than the carded figure if my eyes aren't deceiving me.

Anyway, this line depresses me because the potential for it was so great... Now I'm left considering how I'll make a couple customs that aren't too complex just to flesh out the line a hair more than it is, but otherwise it'll ALWAYS be incomplete without Toht, German Mechanic, Deitrich, Cairo Belloq, etc.

On a bright note (sorta) I'm getting a couple clearanced German cars soon in the mail... Those dried up here long ago, but someone nabbed me some in their area for $5 each, and so I'll have a couple to custom up to be more film accurate, or maybe make one into a nice accurate XD ride perhaps.

Good luck finding your TOD figures folks.

Nope, but that is just the way things go. You people in the south and midwest get the new items at Wal Mart, and then before they have a chance to make it west, the store stops carrying the items. The new 21c figures (US gunner, et al) are in the same boat :?

Nevertheless, I didn't really care for any of the TOD wave of Indy figures, so I'm really not bummed about not finding them. Too many other figures like Russians and Uncha Warriors to grab at the nice $3 pricetag

Good point. I hope everyone realizes this may be the last time to grab up some decent Russians. Who knows when anyone will make something similar...within our lifetimes. Get 'em while you can.

I got Short Round in the mail Saturday from a buddy, and a Canvas Top Truck was sitting all by itself at Target today so I picked that up too. I'm officially 100% caught up on IJ... I had written the truck off as something I wouldn't get, but man I lucked into it today. Yay me.

Sucks that the TOD figures are it... They really are the best overall in terms of quality IMO... It really makes one wonder what this line could've been like had they pushed RotLA stuff earlier with a little less KotCS stuff.

No TOD figures out yet here in FL :(
At least from what I saw. I too lucked into finding a canvas topped truck :) Saw one months ago when they first came out and passed on it to buy presents, then nothing until just before Christmas, so I grabbed it.
Now I can chop up one of the others without feeling bad for the SDkfz 7/1 project. As far as I can tell, some of the TOD figures will fit into my mix, some will be better off to just use the head for figure bashes ;)

I got the cloth top truck and the jungle cutter for $13 each at target. the JC is not the best but it is a ruskie vehicle, it wouldve been nice if they made all the ruskie vehicles from the movie.

Yeah I saw Canvas tops too early, then nada for a long time... Dumb luck I found this one. Word is TJ Maxx has some of the harder to find items for cheap, so if you have a TJM it's a good time to maybe look.

I got a full set of TOD figures with some extras for cheapy cheap from friends, and I got some htf TLC figures too... Being caught up is just a nice warm fuzzy feeling on a line that went out on a bad note. That next RotLA wave looked so nice too, and man did Toht look cool or what!? Two heads... Now we'll never know...

unless they do another movie giving Hasbro an excuse to do this stuff. I'm sorta for whoring the IJ property some more if it means more toys from the movies I liked, haha.

The line's dead Popeye, so you'll hope for a LONG time. ;)

Seriously though, it's dead. Hasbro's not doing anything new. :(

Hold out hope for a new movie. Honestly... New movies mean new toys, and Hasbro's hinted theyd' sneak in "old movie" stuff if a new movie got made. There's some hope, but just not much popeye, sorry.

I mean what really sucks is they even SHOWED us the first wave of 2009! Seeing and knowing you'll never get it!? That hurts.

I like the canvas truck better. My personal opinion is I will never again pass up stuff I want waiting for it to go on clearance. I have missed too many releases that way. I say go for it Tambo!

Yeah, I'd go ahead and grab it, but only AFTER you check your local TJMaxx and Marshalls stores. I picked one up last week for $12 and they seem to be showing up across the country.
