1/18 Skyraider~Do you think it will really happen?

Post by Jericoeagle1 » Mon Jan 05, 2009 6:23 pm

I watched a special on the Military Channel last night about the Douglas Skyraider. Its always been one of my favorite aircraft next to the A-10. I'm really hoping that Admiral will still come through with it, though I'm having my doubts. Anyway, if they do I hope we see a US Air Force and Navy Intrepid Version. Anyone else have any thoughts? Jason you still out there? Wanna give us a progress report?

I sure hope we see the Skyraider model also. it will be massive in 18th scale, and I can only imagine how nice it would look. Maybe Jason will give us an update soon.

It's been a long road, but I am still in the game. :)

I saw that show also - very interesting! Always loved the Skyraider - don't know if we'll ever see it in 1:18, but that sure would be a great piece.

To digress a bit, I pre-ordered the Dauntless 2 years ago now. Wonder if we'll ever see that!

We'll see em...oh yeah we'll see em. I always loved the look of the Skyraider and Im very impressed by the role they played in Nam. I knew an old guy that flew in WW2, Korea, Nam and Desert Storm, I dont know how much of his story was true but he did tell some great tales, one of his best was about the A-1 in Nam.

I am starting to think this may not happen. Jason stated he wanted to do this for his Dad, but with the Dauntless and even the Hartman Sabre years behind how long until this can get done? The only way I see it being released is if Jason chooses to surprise us by slipping it to the front of the production queue. I don' know about Jason's Dad but I know my parents won't last forever. Even if it never gets produced perhaps Jason can give him the painted master?

Not a plane collector per se, but this is one plane I would definitely add to the collection if it ever gets airborne.
