New FOV Paratroopers at Target

Post by GIToys » Sun Jan 04, 2009 11:56 am

A new line of FOW 1:18 modern figures...paratroopers fully equipped. Also a different brand with fully articulated modern US troops (between 4-5") supported by a desert recon buggy (sorry, not into the modern stuff).

The stuff you saw were not from FOV, the brand you saw was called "Freedom Ops Network" by a new toy company named Hooga Loo. The packaging claims they are official U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps toys.

I will create a new thread and post pictures I took of them at Target in a bit.

You misread the post...the paratroopers are from Forces of Valor (I accidentally wrote FOW instead of FOV)...the larger figures and desert buggy are from the company you identified.

D'oh, sorry! Thought you confused it with the Freedom Ops Network paratrooper. The paratroopers have arrived in your AO? Did they have a working parachute or just the gear?

I believe it's a working chute (I didn't buy any since I'm a WW2 guy). Unlike the BBI paras, I think you can liberate these figs from their rigging. They looked really good.

Awesome! If it is, FOV beat BBI to the punch on removeable modern paratroopers! With the modern paratroopers appearance, the 1:18 Stryker release can't be far away now, hopefully FOV will do WWII paratroopers and make some Fallschirmjagers later. :D

And this Bravo Team 1/32 Stryker leads me to believe they will be producing a 1/18th scale since the 1/32 Abrams and Bradleys are identical to their 1/18 brothers.

Interesting how FOV is adopting the Bravo Team logo for their 1/32 line, too. Makes me wonder if the Stryker will be available to e-tailers and TRU as a standard FOV item, or is this for Target only? Maybe it WAS canceled for the regular FOV 1/32 Action/Enthusiast series, and will be a Target Bravo Team exclusive. But it definitely gives hope that the 1/18 version will soon be on its way.

Now if FOV will upscale their T-72 and maybe add a BMP to the line-up... That or a nice selection of bicycles and beat-up Fiats.

Oh yeah, the figures have been used before in the regular series but with new camo paint BDUs, camo painted faces and new helmet sculpts with chin straps. Harnesses are fully removable, too.

Don't forget your BBI Elite Force Pave Hawks boys!!! :D

Thanks for the Pics Matt, these figs look cool.
Do you have any Intel on FOV's 1:18th Tiger I ? Are they going to re-release it or for many of us around the country are they going to release it for the first time. They never made it to the North East.

Hola Normandy!

Boy, I wish I had some info to provide you with. Other than it's initial release, we haven't seen hide or hair of the Tigers. The Abrams is back out now so perhaps the Tigers will follow soon. Our reps at Forces Of Valor are really in the dark with this 'Bravo Team Target Exclusive' line. We do get bits of intel from them but it is very limited and they worry about breaching Target privy intel.

The reason is, Target deals directly with Unimax in mainland China and circumvent the US headquarters all together. They want to sell to Foxhole Toys directly, hoever, Unimax and their "Bravo Team" lines are Target Exclusives geared towards mass market boys toys. This is why we're seeing even the 1/32 & 1/48 scale Bravo Team series in ALL plastic.

Originally, Panache Place said the 1/32 Stryker was dead in the 'FOV' line due to metal and labor costs. I guess they figured the FOV line was too expensive to continue with at mass markets and decided to launch an all-plastic category. They already made the mold so here it is. We're still being told that the 1:18 Stryker is on its way for a Spring release. We're keeping our fingers crossed. :)

Cheers mate!

Who said the new Bravo Team 1:32 Stryker wasn't cool? It could use a few more opening hatches, but is otherwise highly accurate to the real vehicle and looks great with a few accessories!

The Abrams does not look bad either, being a downscaled copy of the 1:18 version
