lock it down????? why err on the side of caution??? I'm just waitin' for someone to guarantee me a outlandish price on MIKEG's PRIVATE RESERVE AC COLLECTION (only 64, some have many more) as the economy will probably get worse before it gets better. I can't eat my damn XD, with or without good dressing or gravy.

Well, Bad Cat’s stance regrading their aircraft exclusives makes sense if you take into account that (1) 1:18 scale is “dead as a doornail” and (2) they’re selling the Sky Captain P-40 for $75 and the Pearl Harbor Special Edition for $125.

It’s like the Bruno Bauer “machine gunner” figure on the Private Reserve section of BadCat’s website. According to them it’s also “out of production”, like pretty much everything else.

Alvaro, you're trying too hard to be an ass . . . as usual.

The point you are trying to pervert is pretty simple:

I believe the current fair market price of a Hirano Zero to be about $250 in my estimation. Just my opinion. I don't own any pieces at the present time, so they could appreciate or depreciate from this figure and it wouldn't matter to me, personally or financially. I could be dead wrong about the current value and it wouldn't matter, either. The article was written for entertainment purposes.

Agree, Disagree, Don't Read, etc.

Bad cat has every right to sell their product at what ever price they determine to see fit. it is your right as a consumer to either reject those prices or pay for them.

Lets keep it civil here.

Correct. All these pieces are "out of production" which translates into "they aren't making them anymore". In addition, none of these items are orderable from the manufacturer. The scale is essentially dead, just like the Latin language, but it doesn't mean its not used anymore. It's simply not growing and gathering new fans.

I agree
Also instead of complaining about the high cost of these items we should be thanking badcat for bring them to the market,,as well as a selling place for them as well.

I don't think name calling is necessary or productive and I'm sorry that you don't like my opinions about your company. What's more I find your comments about the 50% of collectors who "collect the biggest toys possible but really shouldn't" a tad patronising coming from an etailer that sells COLLECTABLE MASS PRODUCED PLASTIC TOYS to people you know nothing about:

50%--Collectors below the poverty level. They collect the biggest toys possible but really shouldn't.

Thanks for letting the rest of us know what we should and should not do.

I don’t have any personal issues with Matt. I’m expressing my opinion on the subject at hand, haven’t called anyone any names and have commented only on the policy BadCat seems to follow with regards to the products they sell to the public. Matt’s remark was completely uncalled for and added nothing to the debate.

I'm going to lock this thread as it is no longer tenable. I personally take the blame here as I definately started this flame war. Sorry about that folks. Bad Cat Aviation doesn't deserve the amount of negativity it's getting. It is a fact that they added a lot to our hobby over the years....
