What's the story with the "Laura Michelle" P-51?
Does anyone know the whole story on the LM P-51? I know its not a true scheme, but would like to know anyway. Thanks for the information.
"I can stop collecting 1:18 scale anytime, really I can. OOoh, the new Stuka re-paint! I don't have that one.

They are indeed a composition of names but not of 21C employees. Rather they are names of family members of the CEO. That one and the Samantha Payton P-38 were from the way back early days when the idea was to use fantasy schemes as they were designed originally to be just toys.
We collectors figured out pretty quick that these were cool toys and demanded for more realism in schemes and improved detail in future aircraft shapes, and designs. Thus Roy Sutherland was hired and the next generations were followed up by no longer exploring fantasy schemes. The only exception to this was a one of a kind fantasy scheme that Roy did as a promotion to given away to one participant at comic con. I believe that John Lumley our fellow board member has that plane in his collection.

Maybe a Jurassic Park P-40, or Huey
I didn't know that about the Laura Michelle or the Samantha Payton. Glad I didn't buy either.
Anybody got a pic of that special promo Comic-Con P-51, or is it in the database?

Well I dont have the Samantha Payton, but I do have the Laura Michelle and I dont regret it. It looks nice sitting amongst the other mustangs. May not be historically accurate, but its still a mustang, still 1 18 scale and still adds to the collection and that matters too.
If anyone doesnt want their SP, I will gladly take it off their hands for them.

Just a bump with some questions.
I finally have taken the aircraft plunge and acquired a FW-190 Red 3.
Since I like to display my stuff I am in search of a counter-part and possibly foes as well.
I think the "Red 3" story is that it protected ME-262's while taking off and landing. I have been leaning toward getting a Stuka and what series Stuka would have most likley shared the skies with the "Red 3"
Also as far as foes I was looking at getting a P-51. Are there stories behind any of these planes??
"Big Beautiful Doll" Second release
"Flying Undertaker"
"Ridge Runner"
Thanks for any info.

BTW: I used to live in Lake Worth, not too far from you.
Cranedriver:
Not too sure on some of those P-51's, but I know the "Flying Undertaker" is a Pacific theater Mustang.
The "Old Crow" is definitely Europe theater. The BBI and 21st versions.

Your best bet is to check out the profile gallery below to get the pilot/unit info on the planes and do some internet research.cranedriver wrote:Just a bump with some questions.

It would make no sense to match up a Stuka with Red 3 as VJ44 had nothing to do with Stukas. Don't get the Flying Undertaker as that was a Pacific campaign aircraft......
