New use for old XD...

Post by parrish333 » Tue Nov 30, 2004 4:21 pm

So the wife and I are setting up our Christmas tree and our nativity set, when she says, "too bad we don't have some kind of backdrop for our nativity scene; maybe something like a stable with a loft..."

The word 'loft' makes me dash downstairs to grab my XD hayloft, and she was oddly thrilled when I brought it up! 'What is that?! Where'd that come from?! That will work perfectly!'

The first time I've ever seen my lovely bride so enthused about XD!!!
So now a cow, sheep, camel, shepherds, 3 wise men, baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph are occupying a 20th century French hayloft! It actually works really well for an old busted up stable that was the only place left in town for Mary and Joseph to sleep.

I even threw in a PowerTeam camel with 'sacks of grain' (sandbags) strapped to it, flanked by a few sorta-dressed-like-1st-century-middle-easterners SW figures (Qui Gon Jinn, Obi Wan, and Adi Gallia) but I think I was pushing my luck :)

So now (if you can still find any haylofts out there) you have one small excuse to buy more XD!!!

Okay, they've been used for Halloween decorations. Now, Christmas. The challenge is on for who can come up with a Valentine's decoration using XD.

Valentine's Day

Post by Razor17019 » Tue Nov 30, 2004 6:46 pm

I have one:
Picture this. A wounded soldier and a lovely nurse sit together in front of a lovely fountain thinking about their future together. Cupid smiles down at them from high atop his purch.

This scene could be made with the XD fountain, a US or German soldier of your choice, Tina the white trash figure in white with nurse cap and the winged figure on top of the fountain draped in red.

Wonder if the fountain would actually hold water??

With XD, any holiday is possible!!!

Anybody got one for Arbor Day?

Four words for the valentine's day XD display: Peg O' My Heart

That really is one of my favorite planes although I'm not exactly sure why -- guess it's just big and bold and totally 1940's!

Veterans Day:

Have a giant parade through the living room in my house in which all my toy soldiers and vehicles take part, with the aircraft somehow suspended above in formations.

you can hire midgets to hold the planes up to make their flight more realistic, the drawback is, where would you get that many midgets and what would you feed them.
