I have that set. The Ark does open, but does not have the poles that the 12" version has. It looks very good IMHO.Fitzystigertank wrote:so i watched RotLA the other day and was thinking of getting the ark with indy dressed in cairo clothes. i wanted to know if it was worth it. it's 12 bucks in walmart. does it open. i was disapointed in the fact it didn't have the handles for anyone to carry it. am i wrong???

Yes, that set is worth it. Personally, besides the German Motorcycle and Indy & horse sets, it is one of my favorites.Razor17019 wrote:I have that set. The Ark is well detailed and is essentially a minnature replica of the one from the film (albeit no poles). As the prop in the film was build according to the Biblical description and stats, the toy, then, is as highly accurate as can be determined to the real relic

The Indy figures is also pretty cool. The cloth robes were done nicely and do not look too funky. They can be removed. No "Staff of Ra" was included, however, which would have been cool. He goes well with the Sullah figure. The Ark looks great with the Belloq figure.
The novelty of the set is also something to consider... How often are you going to see an action figure that comes with a replica of a Jewish holy relic selling at mass retail?

I second that assessment. THe ark is really nice. The figure I wasn't impressed with, but it's fine.
My ark came with a real human hair in it! black, fine, about an 1" long - probably from Asia. Some factory workers hair fell into teh ark. Not as cool as holy scriptures or angry ghosts. I left it in there.

The relic is inside the cardboard "box" that comes with each figure.Fitzystigertank wrote:so i've noticed in my last crusade figures that when you see pics of them online like toys r us they have a lil relic. i only noticed for examples the indy with the machine gun only came with his whip and the gun. but online they show a lil relic. did i miss anything??

Info
I thought I would point out that Indy figures are still not selling, no matter how many times WalMart "rolls back" the price to $5.44 a figure. That's still too much in my opinion. They need to clearance these things.

The prices have been rolled back in Britain too. But most of the figures here are Marion and Monkey man. Which I don't want.dandaman wrote:I thought I would point out that Indy figures are still not selling, no matter how many times WalMart "rolls back" the price to $5.44 a figure. I found those exact two as well, along with a TON of young indy and tie Indy.grockwood wrote:I was shocked yesterday. The other day when I was at Target I saw a 4 or 5 pack of Indy figures that INCLUDED Dr. Jones Sr. AND the German Col. I passed on it as I have several of each and I need to focus on presents for Christmas.
There is a S3 version of the cargo truck with a fabric truck. I saw it once or twice, but passed on it. Now I don't see them and I guess I lost out on them - for now

that was quick - we went out to eat tonight and of course target to get a few items and I found the IJ Truck with Fabric back tonight $19.99 - it is a different box with a pic on the back - not sure if it is fabric over the plastic or just fabric?
