m48 patton?

Terz: 21C released an M-48 Patton about three or four years ago, very surreptitiously. I only heard about it by accident when I was querying a small dealer as to his inventory. It was released in olive drab as a Vietnam version, with one .50 cal in the turret cupola and another on top of that in a pintle mount. It is a beautiful piece! Rumours abound that 21C is going to release that version again in olive drab diecast metal. Of course, there is the upcoming Sahara version in desert camo, or you can look for the original on Evil-Bay (and probably get scalped as well!).
Go Starbuck!

Its a nice tank, and is one of 21c's larger pieces of armor. It has some accessories on the turret and comes with a commander figure. It has all the usual features of 21c armor such as rolling treads, elevating guns, rotating turret, opening hatches - save that there is no interior. The commander's cuppola can rotate as well commander can be closed up in it. This is one of their earlier pieces, coming nearly two years before the Tiger, M-41 and Halftracks. It was a Toys R Us exclusive. Here's the 21c promo picture of it:

Wasn't there word of this tank being also re-released in the above paint scheme for the proposed "Platoon" line?

It was on display at TF with the Platoon stuff and without the USMC markings. Last one I saw on ebay went for about $50 - not bad considering a) it's years gone, and b) that's what ToyFed would charge you if it came out tomorrow  .

Troublw with making th M48 diecasst is the torsion bar suspension wouldn't hold the weight up long before it started sagging.
