You know it was this time last year that 21st knocked our socks off with the surprise release of the Razorbacks, it would be so awesome if we had a repeat of that. I don't mean repaints, I'm talking a new line again, wishful thinking, a little greedy, but what the hey!! Could you imagine a couple schemes of the Zero! I hope the bubbletop has several repaints as did the Razorback, Gabreski's just has to be done!!

Does any one know what the sku number is? Also is it the paint that we have seen on-line or something different? Thanks

Bubbletop SKU

Post by Bruzzer » Tue Oct 26, 2004 8:37 am

Here's the sku 9874810180 for the bubbletop. Sorry I can't get a digital picture out there but it looks like the catalog picture. The only thing I noticed missing is the rear fusalage aerial post. My paint job has some scratches but that may be because of Walmart as all my P47 were mangled.

Bubble Top P-47....WOW!

Post by boyx30 » Tue Oct 26, 2004 9:07 am

Given the timeline set out on the BadCat site this is about a month early...now hopefully this means that ME109-G will follow very shortly.

I'm in Northern California too, so I'll check my location today and report back!

Walmart

Post by ajeschke » Tue Oct 26, 2004 12:24 pm

The Walmart in Vadnais Heights MN didn't have the bubbletop, but it does have 4 of the new 1:6 Stuarts. I really like the paint job on this one...it's much better than the olive drabe on the first.

They are priced at $149...

Sorry guys...I meant to put this in the Walmart recon section...I don't know how to move it...

you can't move it.....neither can a moderator. Best bet is to copy and paste.

I've ordered a bubbletop from one of our usual vendors, but I hope to see one at a Wal-Mart near me relatively soon, too.

Don't you just wish they did the gun right on that large Stuart tank?

For those of you in California, expect agents from BCA to show up at your Walmart soon!!! I'll laugh if they offer Motorworks P-47s. I'm still a bit irritated from the FW-190 episode............

Did some recon at two WM tonight here in Utah. Nothing on the new p-47 yet. Just black chevron 190's I already have two of those so I will just have to wait.

Have there been any other sightings of this aircraft? Strange that it's not come up anywhere, on auction or dealer sites. I hope this isn't another "Chech Spitifre" occurance.

Bubbletop Pic

Post by Bruzzer » Wed Oct 27, 2004 2:13 pm

Hi All,
I took a quick picture of the plane and then one of my hobby room. If you want to see http://community.webshots.com/user/hornettrip
I used buying lightbulbs as an excuse to go back to the Milpitas, CA store and the last bubbletop is gone now. I may try another tomorrow.

Thanks for the photo. Looks like I'll have to weather it up a bit and add one or two little things, but I don't think that will be a problem.

My local Wal-Mart told me that it should be no more than a month before these planes show up in the stores here. After I asked him he went to one of his store computers and looked it up somewhere. We shall see....

Thats one nice looking plane! I love the paint job and the detail on the rockets and bombs. We know it exists now! Nice hobby room as well! When I eventually have my own house, they're will be a room like that!

There has to be more out there

Post by Bruzzer » Wed Oct 27, 2004 9:14 pm

I saw 2 bubbletops in the Milpitas, CA store and picked 1 up. I went back today and the last one is gone. The original two looked picked over so I think someone beat me there.
I have a few free hours tomorrow so I'm going to check out at least another SouthBay store. If I find any I'll let you guys know. I'm still looking for the D-Day spit.

The South San Jose Walmart on Monterey usually carries stuff and puts it out pretty fast and the Gilroy store seems to have stuff most if the time..I don't think the Gilroy location gets hit very often due to it's client base...so those might be good locations....The store in Los Banos had plane for days back in July again the farming community isn't big on X/D I'd guess....good luck guys.

P.S. The Wal-Mart in Pleasanton only had 2 FW 190 chevrons as of yesterday.

Bubbletops gone

Post by Bruzzer » Thu Oct 28, 2004 4:16 pm

I hit the S San Jose and Story Walmarts and couldn't find any planes. The Mt View store had some 190's. So, back I go to Milpitas and all I see are 3 190's. I couldn't find the employee for the toy dept. The person I talked to said it was probably all out but she'd ask for me. I won't hold my breath. I almost wish I'd kept it MIB, no it will look better flying. Hopefully by this weekend.

Buzzer,

There is also a new store in Los Gatos on Los Gatos Blvd, just past Lark Ave. called "The Toy Soldier", they carry X/D too! along with other very cool stuff. I don't know if they've received the bubble top yet...but I'm sure he'll get them.
