New BF-109G Profile-Herman Graf
Hey guys,
I posted a profile of the new BF-109G. This is an assumption from the partial picture p51 gave out on the forum. I believe it is the mount of Major Herman Graf, JGr 50.
p51, could you let me know if this is the plane??
Check out the profile in the profile album (just click the website button)
Thanks!

ps: I'm still in search of a profile of the BF-109E nightfighter, so if anybody can scan one or find one on the internet, I would be ever so appreciative..........

Just saw on the BCA website that the picture of the production ME-109G is posted and the preorder will be coming soon! It looks simply awesome and I think I'm in love...

So much for the 1 repaint of one aircraft type policy!

hmm.....not bad. Not my top pick for a paint scheme but as i will probably be getting several of these it's nice to have variety.
Shouldn't be too hard to back date this G to an F model if a desert scheme one comes out (which i suspect it will....Jochim Marsielle anyone?.....(yeah i know i spelled it wrong).
Good to see the big gun pods under the wings...i never noticed them before. A nice bomber killer version. (oops, is it ok to say 'killer'?).![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)

You know, if the 109G comes out before the start of November, it will be the first time that "adversarys" have released since the P-51 and 109E came out? Ahhh history in the making.......

me-109G
Afergeson,
you think a desert version will eventually follow?......I was thinking a custom jobbie if I had to!.....the possibilities on this one are huge...so many great pilots were at the helm of this baby it's hard to know where to start!

Trop 109
Isn't there a Trop E model already on preorder elsewhere? I don't see much point in having both an E and a G in the same trop scheme for the same pilot.

well first off they wouldn't be in the same scheme. The E has the sand and spinich finish (sand with dark green splotches) and an F or G would be in overall sand. It looks quite different, believe me.
Besides they are two very different aircraft both in appearance and in ability. There are lots of different pilot's planes to chose from, wouldn't have to be the same pilot.

Amazing! that is one great looking plane. I also hope that they do an afrika paint scheme. If you look close it appears that the slats on the leading edge of the wing move? Anyone able to confirm if this is true? I also live the detail in that canopy! Love the armor plate headrest. Excellent job 21st. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Hermann Graf bio:
Thanks for finding that. What an interesting character. Really puts a spin on the paint scheme.........boyx30 wrote:Interesting short bio on Major Graf:

Hermann Graf Bio:
Teamski,
I hope you wandered around that site a little bit very interesting stuff!
Also, yes the the "RED NOSE" has a certain amount or irony to it!...it's unfortunate that only after they're gone does the entire story surface and what was perceived isn't always the case.
on a side note: You may want to check out the book "Doorknob52" written by a p-38 pilot...he has a very interesting site (run word "Doorknob52")
I've corresponded with this man...he's definitly worth a look...he's also currently selling some of his stuff on ebay. Not to mention he's the subject of a documentary that will be released shortly....

did the ME 109G somehow get overshadowed?
I'm surprised this hasn't stirred more excitement?.....potentially the best plane they've created to date...add in a russian YAK or LAGG...better yet a russian Hurricane (of course with the battle of britain repaint to follow) and viola you're got the Battle of Kurske on your own ceiling!.....
We're all excited about it, but with all of the stuff hitting us at once, it's hard to single out one awesome plane from the rest!!! The bbi P-51 is soooo close to release, it's getting the limelight right now. I'm sure when the Graf 109 hits the shelves, it will create it's own ripples!!

hey boyx30,
i've read doorknob, very good book. it's a nice little package he has up for sale on ebay, reasonably priced too. don't mean to change topic or anything, just wanted to chime that in.
and yes, this and the rest of the new planes look amazing coming out! i think with this bf 109 and the bbi mustang the bar has definitley been lifted up for both these companies.

Ah Boyx30,
I haven't stopped drooling over this plane since it first appeared. I'm just anxiously awaiting it's arrival at Wallymart.
Now, as was mentioned earlier, we'll also need a repaint with Hartmann's Black Tulip 'White 1', Marseille's Trop 'Yellow 14' (thought I think this was an F model), and Bartel's 'Red 13'. Hubba hubba...

Grunt, Thank you for that reply..I actually got the package from ebay and am currently reading the book..it is a very good read...I'm glad someone else out there has read it too!...Fred Arnold is a very interesting guy I've been able to have some e-mail correspondance with him lately....
