First Curtiss Hawk P-36 / H-75 paint master !!

Post by pickelhaube » Wed Aug 06, 2008 3:34 pm

I guess you can call me lazy. I sent a couple of kits to Jack so he could do my paint master while I was out of town. Although I wanted him to do the Pearl Harbor vertion first he did the French one first. It looks real good. I will do the Pearl first then an RAF with the green/blue grey and third will be the French. Here is the post for the French.

Did I say I was lazy ? He did a good job what do you guys think?

There are a few little things that need work . The fuselage roundel needs to be a tad larger. The yellow 10 needs to be darker and the serial numbers of the rudder need to be put on.

Thanks Man !!!

This one may be cooler than the Pearl Harbor mount. What do you guys think ?

Here is the RAF green/grey.

Or does the standard brown green look better ?

I think I remeber having that same RAF pattern on one of those styrofoam planes (the ones with the little prop) when I was a kid. I would definitely buy that white one, well maybe not definitely...if the price was within reason. But I do love that scheme!!!

It looks white but it is natural aluminmum.

By all means you gotta do the natural metal one. So few of the 1/18th scale aircraft available (except for a few P-51s and P-47s) are natural metal or done well. You also gotta do Lt. Rasmussen's #86 (less the 500 bullet holes). Awesome work dude!!!

Fantastic job! Great to see something new in 1:18 scale as well, now if only you could mass produce them for us ;-)

i ve allready shown this model to some FRENCH aviation nuts like me and they are all in awe  i think i will do business with PH to promote his work in France with specialized order !

For us it's a very important plane reminding some dark moments and great hopes underlined buy heroic exploits from our air Force ! (our pilots shot down more than 1000 aircrafts in a few weeks , weakening just barely enough the LUFTWAFFE for the battle of brittain !)

i am jumping all over the piece ! and behave like a little boy !

its Christams in AUGUST !

pickel,

Again, you did a great job fabricating the kit, and now Jack's done a terrific job finishing it up properly! Good idea to sub that out to someone as skilled as he!

A beautiful ship: do you have plans to sell completed ones? Will we see these at MTS? ;)
Was it for this my life I sought? Maybe so, and maybe not...

Wow Super Sonic . Thanks for such a warm response. This project has been on a long road since I have started and it finally looks like the journey is near the end.
Thanks all of you guys for the kind remarks . It makes it worth doing with such positive feed back.
