Occasional deals at hobbytown with 1/18
Not very often......but damaged boxes or a rattling part inside can produce a good deal every once in while. Currently, there is a north african/mediteraenean stuka with a slightly damaged box on the clearance table for 50.00. I got a Huff f-86 for 25.00 several months back with a repairable canopy for 25.00. God forbid you get to pay their full retail on a good plane- 79.00 or thereabouts.

I didn't know that hobbytown carried 1/18 items. The one in Woodbury has none that I know of.mikeg wrote:Not very often......but damaged boxes or a rattling part inside can produce a good deal every once in while. My local Hobbytown has carried 1:18 items for years. They had their best selection between 2003 and 2005, and back then got new releases with regularity. (For example, I got the diecast Panzer IV, BF-109G, and F-104 before even BadCat had them!) Then the selection slacked off quite a bit. Now the 21c items are restocked about twice a year, and usually include yesterday's new releases. BBI is a bit more current. Nevertheless, that sometimes means one can find items that have disappeared elsewhere
