XD Figures
It can't be too bad. We have WM with the Marines, pilots and BoB figures. The Japanese are due out at any moment so the figure front hasn't been abandoned just yet......
To be honest, I'm not much of a figure guy at all. I like the hardware......

21c does have a great selection of figures out there, and I think they are all very well done, save for the M113 crew figures! If you think about it, 21c has made a ton of high quality figures, most of which are individualized and most of which haven't been recycled with different paint jobs (ala BBI).
We've had the S1 troops, the Paratroops, the Viet Nam figures, BoB & Patton figures, US Marines, Modern soldiers, all the pilots and drivers, and soon to be Japanese troops. With 6-12 individual figures for a series, that makes for alot of troops. BBI, for example, has only a certain number of body sculpts and head sculpts, which they have recycled with different paint jobs.
Perhaps 21c should go the recycling route, but then the accuracy many here demand for their figures would decline - as an S1 ETO US figure if painted differently, would not make that great of a Pacific Marine!
I agree that we need some more figures from 21c but they have done an excellent job overall, and as the new Japanese troops evidence, 21c certainly is not out of the figure market by a long shot!

I'm a huge fan of all the figures that have been released. When compared to the gi joes of the eighties, they're an entirely new breed as to both realism and detail. I wish xd was around in my sandbox days, however, as most of my gi joes fell victim to either firecrackers or mortal bb-gun shot wounds, perhaps things worked out better.
Now that we have US, German, and Japanese troops I hope that some Ivans and Tommies will soon appear. Especially the Ivans though, along with that nice little tank they liked to ride in/on...

modern
I agree with T-Man except on the modern. They were not well done. The tanker in the Desert M2 may be worse than the fresh-faced M113 crew, and the Royal Marine exemplified poor articulation. Also, the weapons were rubbery - compare the VN RPG to the modern RPG. I like the effort, but it's no secret that batch was pretty lousy.
