Post IJ Hype
Now that the movie has been out for a while and figures can be found in vast abundance, how is everyone feeling about their Russian Soldier/Colonel Dovchenko stashes?
The bottom part of my closet is filled with these figures. At one point I gave up count and would just toss the next batch in my closet. Plus, I have opened figures on my shelves and some spares in some of my desk drawers.
I'm thinking the Russian hype is over. What do you think?

everything is still very scarce here and the russian soldier virtually impossible to find (i've only got 2 so far). Nice to know they are plentiful elsewhere as it means it's just a matter of time.
The hype may be ending but i'll never be sorry that these russians came out.....as i said before i've been waiting nearly 8 years for figures like these.

Next Wave
The Elsa figure...er...maybe...to some extent.
But the Vogel figure? You are going to see collectors descend on stores unlike anything before. We all saw how the Russian Soldier sold. Multiply that times ten.
This is the figure SmallJoes should be selling for $14.99.

Gotta read the fine print "This is a pre-order only! this item is expected in July"

They're shipping heavier more than not moving. I am seeing them now here and there. I think the soldier was also short-packed if I were to guess. As were a number of other characters, like the Cemetary Warrior and Marion Ravenwood...
They've all been a tad more scarce than the average packed figure. And unlike our beloved military lines, Hasbro does refresher assortments that generally will get army builders and other demanded figures out again in some fashion and often to a point of saturation.
The only thing(s) I'm not seeing at all are German bikes, German Trucks, German 4WD's... Everything else I see somewhat now. Even Russians, though I'm still buying them in dribs and drabs yet... The lack of decent weaponry for them sorta hurts my desire to own too many, but I'm sure I'll nab some more here in the coming months as I have nothing going on but home improvement junk.
Why pay inflated prices for any of this, anywhere guys? Forget the online retailers... Wait'll it's out. Panicing just feeds the places that jack you around on prices. Patiences is a huge virtue in toy collecting guys... Trust me.

Funny what's to be had with the Indiana Jones stuff. My area got very good coverage with it - far better than Star Wars or GI Joe ever get, let alone 21c products. My local TRUs seem to have the most limited supply, with Wal Mart and Target having the most. Either way, within my town there are at least 12 mass retail stores that are all carrying the Indiana Jones line as of this moment.
Every one of the stores has the German motorcycle, for example, and I should pick up another. The three figures Jesse James mentioned above seem to be the hardest to find, but more Russian soldiers seem to have shown up as of late and I got my fill weeks ago. Target only seems to have the two-packs of Germans, Marion, and Indy with the Ark. I'm still seeing trucks, the occasional command car, and the jungle cutters between all the stores. I would say the market in my area is pretty much saturated. Some items, like all the various carded Indiana figures and Mutt Williams, are the peg-warmers...
