Its a yawner. Not saying that I have not ever overpaid for something I wanted. But, not this time. Ebayers will be trying to get $120 or more for these. Might can find one at a lesser price since some dealers are more expensive than others. I will just wait and see. I don't see a shortage of these.

Crud looks like the prices we have seen for the king tiger will be true. $79 for a repaint of a tank that was selling for $40ish is just ..... well there is kids here so I cant say what I want to say  The MATORRO KINGTIGER TIGER in 1/16 withSmoke & Sound for around 150 to 200 sounds like a sweeter deal to me :) wait for a little longer and the price will drop too.
Could not think of anything to put here.

$80 is a bit much. I remeber when the winter Panthers came out . They were $49 at the Cat. Times they are a changin'. The wrong way. I am sure they will sell. But I like to get 2 of everything but at this rate one. only. I am running out of space anyway so I need to cut back. I must repeat this over and over to myself.

Yeah - $80 for a $40 repaint - 21st I'm done. You have proven yourselves fools and have pretty much opened the doors for FOV to be the top 1:18 company in my book.

21st will be out of business in 1 1/2 years with this move.

You said it stuka.
I must agree, never really liked 21c any way, with the exception of their cobra.

If 21st wants to reduce their customer base, they've taken the first step in accomplishing just that. I may have to pass on the panther at that price. Can't see paying almost double for a tank that really hasn't changed a whole bit.

I reluctantly agree... I paid about $50 for my winter Panther (from Hobbytown) and about $45 for my S1 Panther after it had been out of production for a while. Heck, you can still find Tigers for around $60 and that has alot more "tank" to it. Don't get me wrong as the 21c Panther is one of my favorite tanks from their line, but at $80 or more for a $40 tank, I'll have to pass...

as i said before, while they may be able to justify a higer price on the KT due to lower initial production run, it's hard to justify it on this, which has surely been paid off many years ago.

I have to agree this is an unwise thing for them to do. Even many of the die hards are balking at this price. In a series of moves (missing product release deadlines by years not just months, the nonesense that they pulled with the F-4 phantom at toy fair 07, more than doubling prices etc), 21c has begun to seriously alienate even its most loyal fans. They need to sit down and really start thinking about what they are doing while they still can.

After 7 1/2 years they still have yet to release some very basic, important armoured vehicles that would have sold well and solidified the line. The armour line struggled initially because many people were unwilling to commit to a new scale, until it was better developed with a greater variety of vehicles.

But instead of developing that variety 21c hemmed and hawed and hessitated. Now that 1/18 armour is finally catching on, it's too late. The WM deal is blown and they think they need to now charge absurd prices. STOP TRYING TO RECOVER ALL YOUR INVESTMENT IN THE FIRST PRODUCTION RUN. It will turn around and bite you in the ass and ruin xd for everyone.

Want it... Won't pay $80 for it...

KT maybe, Panther though, no. KT at $80 and I'd probably bite for sure... At $100 that's just a maybe at this point even.

If those vehicles were out there why didn't one of the other 4 companies release them?

$80 is too much for the Panther. The last repaint was $55-60 (not $49 - that was the Winter Tiger). Hopefully this is the typical BCA inflated price and they are actually more like $65.

I agree whole heartedly with most of whats been said, and it appears as though 21st wants evilbay prices for their product, well it's possible thats where most of these will end up as collectors such as those here on this board, won't be gobbling up these anytime soon.

Thumbs down 21st!

I feel you guys on this one . It says nothing about a figure included even. The Winter one came with 2 figures and was not ever close to being $100. They haven't changed out the metal tow cables which I hate :x. Would be nice to see an update on this vehicle for that price.

I also want one, but if paying $100 for these starts to be trend I'm going to have to bail complete from this stuff , as I don't really care for bbi or the new FOV stuff. They are just not even in the same league with most of what 21st C puts out. I guess I'll have more cash to spend on Star Wars and Joes then if this is the future for 21st C items.

Count me in with the crowd, $80 to $100 is just too steep for a Panther.

For those prices, I'd like an interior, crew and tie on accessories. That's what I want for that kind of 1/18 money on a vehicle already produced. Don't want to give it to me? OK, you keep your tank and I'll keep my money..... your choice...

I'll pay that for something new, like a KT, or a T-34 or a Duster or a Hellcat TD or a M-10 TD.

Comeon 21C, give us what we want or else we'll take our ball and go home...

Military Toy Shop says on their site that it includes two tanker figures. Still, since I have the winter one and the remaining ground space is reserved for the 88 and possible FAMO I'll pass on this one, the price is uhh..awe inspiring.

Doh! Everytime I see one of these threads go up I get all excited for a 1:18 F9F Panther... alas, it's a tank.

I hope at least part of that price point increase has gone towards improving their quality control procedures, but won't be holding my breath.

I've never owned a panther. Somehow I never had the opportunity to pick one up at a decent price. And if BadCat's price is indicative of how much we're gonna pay for these and other 1/18 items from now on, it looks like I'll never get one.

*sigh*

Did I mention I was getting really really bored lately?
