new Tiger

Almost every single thing we have heard from fov about this line has been wrong, especially about distribution, so really no surprise. This is good news and hopefully it means the next wave is on the fast track. :D

Well since I never got the 1st Tiger I hope I can get this one and that camo Sherman... I'm feelin' left out right now. ;)

Hoping to get some extras for the kid too... He's wanting a tank badly right now.

This past Friday I picked up the camo Sherman from the Target near my house for $19.99. I think it is a great price!! I hope to find a Tiger if there are any left here in the DFW area.

I have hit four Targets in my AO with the same results: nada. I am not surprised as I never saw any Tigers here in the first place and the closest sighting was T-man in CA :? .

I wonder if this was a case found in the back of a warehouse somewhere...

Yeah, I only ever saw four of the FOV Tigers (red & tan cammo) at only one of my local Target stores. That was right around the holiday season. I don't want to say it was the only sighting in the west as I'm sure there were more, but the Tigers certainly were not common! The Shermans have made a far better showing, despite taking their sweet time to come west, with four of the six Targets in my area getting at least 2-4 of the tanks. I'm not really after the new Tiger variant, but nevertheless it would be cool to find it...

Well over this past week I've hit 3 Targets and no Tiger I's. I think Stug was in the right place at the right time....... just lucky. Targets in my AO ONLY put out 2 armor pieces at a time, in the last month or so its been the OD and Camo Shermans. If those sell what do they do????????? restock with Bradleys. So unless there are Tiger sightings in my neck of the woods, I'm done with Target.

Pickelhaub, as for the sku #'s  we'll have to wait for Stug.
So whats up with this 21st King Tiger I keep hearing about?..... or not. :P

Here in the Kansas City metro I have seen a couple of Shermans, a few Bradleys but mostly a whole lot of nothing.

Nope...FOV cancelled the 1/32 scale Stryker they were going to produce.

The 1/18 Stryker is said to still have the green light. Guess we'll have to see what unfolds.

Hope you're right BD. Lady at the FoV booth at Toy Fair seemed to think they died together...but she was pretty clueless altogether (or a good actor).

I hope I'm right too. I read this over on the Joecustoms board where the FOV rep has been posting about the Bravo and Ages of Action lines. He stated that there supposedly hasn't been any changes for the Bravo line of vehicles despite the cancellation of the 1/32 Stryker.

DFW report

Post by dandaman » Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:56 pm

DFW report:

Sad news with just about every Target I've visited. They're bone dry when it comes to the 1:18 figures. I've been to every location I can get to and it's pretty pathetic.

For example, one Target has a US Marine Pvt. Brooks sitting on the shelf. It's been like that for months.

Another Target has one WW2 US figure and two camo Shermans.

Another Target has a couple WW2 figures and a green paint Bradley.

Another Target has one WW2 German figure, a camo Sherman, and a green paint Sherman.

Another Target has one WW2 German, two green paint Bradleys, and a camo Sherman.

I have also been to Louisiana and the selection there is pretty dismal as well. There are a couple modern US army guys and that's about it.

I guess if you had to sum it up, you could probably piece together a semi-complete collection of WW2 guys if you shopped around at every single Target in the metroplex. As far as the modern figures go, you might as well forget it until they restock. Which I hope they do soon.

I noticed that the M16 appears to be an actual M16. The 21st version is a M16A1.

FOV in DFW area

Post by dandaman » Sat May 03, 2008 9:15 am

DFW update:

FOV figures and vehicles are hitting the shelves again.

Unfortunately, it's the WW2 line of figures, camo Shermans, and green Bradleys.
