Help with 1:6 scale command car

Post by JOC » Sat Apr 09, 2005 4:33 pm

I have the command car without instructions for the parts. Can anyone who has one let me know how the ammunition can is mounted to the side of the 50 Cal gun? I also have a stray part that is black and looks like it is shoved into something and has what looks like a gun mount on it. Also in the parts bag is something that looks like a link for bullets and two small black pins. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

JOC:
I have two 1/6 CC's and neither has the ammo can holder attached to the gun. The new 1/6 Patton Jeep has the .50 cal post mount with the can holder.

I can't recall any stray black piece that looks like it should be shoved somewhere, can't help you there. The little pins are for the .50 cal. The little black pieces look to me as part of the T&E controll piece. The only trouble is that no T&E control piece was included with a post mount gun. The T&E is used on a tripod ground mount, not on a pedestal mount AA gun. My little pins are still in the little bag. The piece you describe as a linker is also part of the T&E. The Dragon .50 cal has a complete T&E set up with the ground mount, the slide works and the gun is completely lettered with letters so small you can't make them out without a glass, a class piece.

On the CC despite obvious errors (the gas can behind the spare tire is not level with the running board but easily fixed) the CC is one of the best 1/6 pieces 21C made (along side the WSC and the Stuart).

Too bad there is not a 1/6 vehicle site, I've found most of the 1/6 sites steer towards figures, figures and more figures....and then for some change, more figures. At least on this site planes are discussed.......not as interesting as vehicles but better then figures all the time. Maybe that's because it's really hard to dress 1/18 figures and with the 1/6 dollies you can play with for hours dressing and undressing.........well, you can, not me.

Thank you for the explanation as to what I have. I was trying to come up with a way to attach the can, as is on the Jeep. Looks like 21C left that one out of this model. Yes, the CC is a great piece.
Thanks again and at least I know nothing is missing.

Tomorrow I'll put some of my 1/6 stuff up on my webshot site and I'll include some shots of the different 21c pedestal mounts. The new one is really neat.

JOC:
Just looked at some of my 1/6 vehicles and find I was incorrect in telling you that the new Patton Jeep had the "new" .50 cal with the ammo tray mount. I have the same mount on the old Airborne Jeep. So some vehicles have the ammo box holder and some don't.

Sorry for the mis-information.

No problem with the info. I went to our one and only WalMart today and the toy dept manager had one pretty much destroyed 1:6 Jeep he was sending back. He let me have the gun mount with ammo box tray before he sent it back. Now I will try to mount it instead of the original one on the CC.
Thanks for your help on this.
