B-25

Post by Sabrefan » Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:25 am

Well, it looks like we can write off the 18th scale F-4 Phantom. But, does the B-25 have a future? I really don't think so as it is another big model that it seems the retailers don't want to mess with. What a shame that this great WW2 bomber won't be made. If it is to be made, I sure wish someone would let us know. :(

SABREFAN:

It looks like you'll have to settle for 21st Century's 1/32 FW-190 repaint #89...

I would love a 32nd scale B-25 also. That could happen. :D

SABREFAN:

The 1/32 B-25 will be released only if it comes in a dual pack with a 1/32 FW-190 repaint.

Better question: was it ever planned?

To be frank, the main reason I no longer buy any of 21c's repaints is due to the need to maintain available airspace for the B-25, F-4, and MiG-21. No I don't believe these will be made, but I will kick myself if they ever are and don't have space for them.

I'd like to remain optimistic about the B-25, F-4, etc. However, they would be a huge risk for the company, especially in these lean economic times. If 21c doesn't think the average joes will get a B-25 (and if they further don't have the financial support of a mass retail store) then it may not be likely in the near future. I sort of find it funny that 21c will not produce an A-10 due to the size/cost/demand issues, but wants (or has at least expressed the intention) to build an even more complex aircraft

Still, if they do eventually make the B-25 - and its a scheme I like - then I will certainly be down for on

If I were a less trusting individual I might think that 21st's only objective was squashing any upstart competition...

...but then I'm a very trusting person...
