Found a whitewash US Halftrack for 9.00 today. Box was bit beatup but the vehicle and figure look okay. I'm not really sure I need it but for the price I wasn't going to pass it up. It looked so lonely all by itself.

So, if anyone wants it, please PM and we'll see if we can make a deal.

Does Wal-Mart or Target sell model paint such as Testors, etc.? If so, how much does a bottle of paint cost these days?

(I need to touch up a replica and haven't bought any paint since I was a kid)

Target doesn't carry it, the walmarts around here no longer have a model (paint or kit) area whatsoever. Hobbytown is your best source for a full range of testers, tamiya, humbrol, etc colors. Hobbylobby has only the basic colors-mostly glossy- few flats and only testers.

When I used to build kits, paint was about .30-.50ct, now I believe it is around 2.75, humbrol, testers, whatever.

MIKEG:

Thanks. I was afraid of that. When I was a kid even, even Woolworths sold models and paint.

I might be better off using a can of spray paint to touch my replica up---how much does a small can of spray paint cost these days?

MIKEG:

Woolworths has gone the way of $1 Monogram and Revell models.

Since model paint isn't at Wal-Mart, I might have to buy a can of spray paint instead, so much does a small can of spray paint cost these days?

KIMTHEREDXD:

Thanks for the info. I found out there's a Michael's Crafts near where I live and near a Target and Wal-Mart---I've passed it many times without noticing it while I was looking for 21st Century and FOV stuff.

The Hobby Lobby stores in my AO have an excellent selection of Testors paint, both regular and model master. All the good military colors too.. :)

Things are not looking good at my area walmarts for 21st. It seems that most got 12 Platoon figures per store and some 32X aircraft. No Dual Packs or any other XD.

At least you've got the Platoon figures  All my area Wal Marts have only tons of those D-Day figure repaints with the dark tan skin. On top of that, a couple stores have some 32x aircraft and tanks. There's not even any 1/144 items. So, at least you have some new and interesting figures 8)

Just looking about here around Pittsburgh...

Most WM's have a handful of 2-packs but the German/US set is going steadily.

Most also have a handful of Platoon figures, but man they came and sat pretty fast. I know some guys are into Nam stuff but it really doesn't seem to move like WW2 does, I bought a set, but they're all over WM's here and TRU has the regular guys and they don't move either. Weird.

Hope for some armor and artillery soon. :)

Going to my local Wally is depressing (was there tonight). There's a few dual packs, Platoon figs and a smattering of 1/32 including a half-dozen Panzer 38t's that noone has touched and the 1/6 German MG's. In the clearance aisle is a brace of Russian Migs. Problem is, I have all of this stuff and have had it long enough so that seeing it still on a store shelf elicits a big ho-hum. What I really hope for is the new 1/32 armor and aircraft. Lately that seems to be where the real action is. Don't tell me I am gonna have to resort to getting these online.

I'm still seeing the same, though TRU's have the DAK German with MP40 now... WM's still loaded with Platoon, 2-packs, and old D-Day stuff. I need to get some of those 2-packs with the US guy to ease the backlog I think.

The new DAK are outstanding and I hope I see the range finder soon as well as that rifleman German. Could use him for my grey PAK's I got as those legs will make cool ammo loaders.

My local Super Walmart just restocked the German 2 Packs. I was happy to see the first batch had sold through. Does anyone know if Walmart will be carrying the King Tiger? I found the new Platoon figs at another Walmart, I only picked up the Charlee Sheen character because it had the most accurate likeness.

The troops have arrived in my AO.
PLATOON troops to be exact.
One WM that has not had a 1/18 figure for over a year got in 2 pegs full of Platoon figs. I like these figs and don't get me wrong it's nice to see figs back in my closest WM, but geeze who is the one responsible for sending all these Platoon figs there? I work in purchasing in the real world and I would be shot if I ordered this many of a product!

Like the rest of you guys, I am looking for the dual packs (have yet to see any) and the new German figs with posable legs.

Found that ya can't trust anybody with a simple job! I tell everyone I know to watch for clearance WWII stuff. Saw one of my buddies last Sunday, tells me, "hey my WalMart has 4 of those big planes you collect... $10 on clearance... Spitfires I think". BUY THEM, buy them all!!!! Of course I've been emailing him asking and gotten 2 separate replies but he keeps skirting around the planes.... called all the stores up where he is... "oh yeah, had them weeks ago"!!
