Dragon Action18 Figures
Dragon Action18 Figures
Does anyone know how many of these there are in total and what is the general opinion of them compared to 21C, bbi and the new FOV figures? Thanks.

action 18
This question comes up every few months - if you look back you can find some very detailed comparisons.
There were about 16 (+ chase) articulated Germans plus two static, and about 14 US.
The weapons are the best by far, the articulation so-so, the gear removable and very detailed, the heads and hands a bit big. That is the summary. The early ones with all the extras are well worth the price.

Thanks for the replies/ info.
I was wondering about these whilst waiting for the FOV WW2 figures to show up here in my area. I thought the Dragon figures might be worth finding somewhere online. Wonder why they do not make them anymore- or do they?

1:18 was one scale dragon could not compete in. Their last round of figures were pretty lousy and didn't include any of the extras the earlier ones did. That wave is still readily available. They threatened another wave for a while but then gave up. They don't do 1:18 anymore. Hopefully that changes some day.
it's really a shame too. Back in the day, i had high hopes for what Dragon could have brought to this scale. But for whatever reason, they didn't have any interest in it.
I wonder if that may change now that 1/18 armour seems to be growing in popularity, which is what prompted FOV to enter the fray.
where is the fingers crossed emoticon?

I picked them up after asking the same questions here on the forum - I agree - heads a bit big and the detail is amazing - when up against 21st figures they are a bit smaller and are more 1:18 size than 21st figures. Get them you will like them - and the weapons are amazing in detail.
my three cents..
and well - if you get them and dont like them - then you have some great items for trade....

I agree with Aferg...
I have two with a Panzerschrek and one is holding it looking around my bombed out corner ruin, while the other's behind it loading a projectile. Very neat looking like that, and I'm going to be rearranging them to a PAK-40 here before long... They're really good for that kind of stuff with the 21st stuff around them.
They make awesome fixed figures for the XD guys to complement. Their extra gear is nice to hand out too, as they had lots of MP40's and other stuff you could pass off to XD figures...

Agree about the pix. I remember now this use of these particular figs being discussed some time back-although I would require a fair number to crew the six Pak 40's I have. I am almost ashamed to admit I acquired that many. But it is such a cool piece once I got one I could not help myself... and the Wal Mart clearence prices were part of it as well.
