Good inadvertant ploy by TRU- put out the previously available (at WM) 1/18th AC, and watch me finally buy the repaints I ignored in the past. Those would be the bunker hill corsair and the seeman 109 and maybe the smoke 104- it would look nice with a f-4

I went by TRUs this evening. The only thing new were the 1/18th scale Flying Undertaker P-51, Bunker Hill Corsair, Laven F-104, and the Seemann BF-109.

1:18th aircraft have shown up at the Fresno TRU :D I like it when "new" items come in a timely manner. The store had one each of the "George Laven" F-104, Bunker Hill Corsair, and Seeman Bf-109G. I got the Seeman '109.

couple of the TRUs have only one 1/18/th A/C left, the marietta one has none- I don't think the TRU reoreder program would sneeze at that, huh?
Maybe the TRU buyer (if male) is a little more llikely to have noticed these than the average Walmart buyer here (male in guadalajara). I asked the anglo male employee at the marietta TRU (immediately knows the difference between a AC and an Xbox) and he said they only had that one assorted box, no more yet. Hell, I bought three of the four- I already had the George 104. I ignored the repaints first time around and figured what the hell, I had a little spare change from selling a DWM luger-Simpson Suhl rework.

Found 2 planes at a TRU in Northern, CA. The ME-109 (Seaman) and the F104. Also had several Marders and Panzer 38's along with the DAK's.

mikeg,

Ever been to the Hiram or Dallas WM's? I'm thinking of checking them out next week.

I found of the latest paint scheme hanomogs- just recently shown at 21sts site. They look good but if it ain't at least 75% different at a glance from the others, I'll put 30.00 in the gas tank. Somehow, its easier to get another scheme of a p-51 or a 109g instead.

What a beautiful sight today*: F-104 George, 109 Seeman, F4U Bunker Hill & P-51 Flying Undertaker. With the exception of the Corsair, I've never seen the other planes in my AO.

I love hearing about, and finally seeing, VARIETY being stocked at Tru.

This is great!

I agree, as I stated previously about the dissappearing 1/18 AC in TRU- I made a sorta smartass remark about the historical intelligence-maybe that should be "interest" of the average walmart "toy" shopper. We've seen AC calcify on the shelves at walmart, why has the first batch of 4 at TRU gone or almost gone off the shelf? Was walmart the wrong place to move these items to begin with? or did they just put to many out at once

Too much nonsense, what"s your explanation?

Acually, upon further review, I just realized the obvious answer- the same old group here has just bought up the repaints we ignored at walmart- if we dont get em now, its 60-65.00 from now on through the net

I'm seeing the same thing, the aircraft are moving at TRU. We never really saw the Russian Mig around here so it went first, but the others were all at WM recently but they are moving along nicely...

Can you imagine the guy that had been buying the various BBI aircraft (Mustangs, Hellcats and Corsairs) and had never seen the 21C items at WM. One day he walks into his local TRU sees a shelf full of 21C XD planes.

They probably had to pick him up off the floor.. :D

I found a 1/18 AC restock at one the TRUs, unfortunately for me it was a duplicate set of four- BH corsair, seeman 109, p-51 flying undertaker, and the other?? Hell, I forget. Oh yeah, since the seeman 109 was the only one to be found here ages ago, maybe TRU will be chock full of corsairs , undertakers, 104s for ages to come, too.

Of course what did I expect it to be, a box of f-4 phantoms (2 schemes), a mig-21, and a B-25?????????

For our NW members: last week I took a trip north to Ikea and stopped and every WM, Target and TRU along the way. I don't make it up there much but was surprised to see that both the Target and TRU in Federal way were closed, and looked like they had been for some time. I did find the new WM off Hwy 18 but wonder if they are no longer in the area or just relocated somewhere else in the city. Does anyone know?

Thanks in adavance!

Fresno TRU restocked the 1:18 aircraft - same selection as before with the "Seeman" Bf-109G, "Bunker Hill" Corsairs, and "USAF" F-104. The fact that they had to restock the planes in a week is a good sign

Those are the exact same planes I've been finding at the TRU in Northern, CA too. However, they aren't moving as fast.

The South Portland, ME TRU now has the camo Pak40 in stock. There's also a PH P40, desert Stuka, "Flying Undertaker" P51 and a "Smoke II" F104 available. I will probably get the Pak40 to go with the five originals I possess already. Can never have enough AT guns, I guess- especially when the Sherman avalanche finally lands at the local Target across the way. The PH P40 intrigues me because it speaks to my 38 year interest in the Day Of Infamy (that really got rolling when I saw "Tora, Tora, Tora" at the hometown drive-in with my parents back in the summer of 1970). Alas, I like "Smoke II" as well. I am working on a Viet Nam sub-collection of sorts. It would add to that. And if I run and buy the Tiger Meet Starfighter on clearence at my local Wally, I will have all of the 104's except the George AFB version (might run across that somewhere soon). Problem is, they all cost some coin (could always hope for a clearence price in the near future) and the wife, I suspect, has taken to counting those all too familiar 21C boxes stacked in or basement. Hmm-m-m...

That's an interesting selection, especially with the PH P-40, Stuka, and "Smoke II" F-104. Smoke II is basically the only Vietnam era jet we have in 1:18 scale, so if you are into that era, its a must

1/32 is more my thing so I'm no expert... forgive me... however I spotted a 21C 1/18 DAK figure today at TRU that I have not seen before and I wondered if it was new. Its a kneeling machine gunner. Has this guy shown up before?

Those are the new DAK figures, the ones with the swappable legs. They were just announced on the Area21 site a few weeks ago. You have the first sighting 8)

which is a good sign !! -checked out my closest TRU tonight and they have gone from a quarter aisle with 21st items to half the aisle - this was the same TRU that one of the empolyees told me would have full aisles of military toys this year - some of the stores have already kind of done that but %80 of the full aisle is the cheaper military toys a-10 etc...

but half aisle just for 21st and BBI and they did not have many figures but everything was spread real thin -

good gosh and I just spent all my toy money on German FOV figures !!!!!
