Post by mikeg » Thu Jan 03, 2008 12:20 pm

I was leaving the military aisle at one of the TRUs, glanced at the other side with the primitive army stuff and saw a 1/18th mig 15 (russian) on the shelf- I checked it under the price thing and came up with a 39.00 price- d'ya think the me-262 will show up en mass.....or not?

sheesh - we are all "migged out" But at the same time - very excited to see the planes - a TRU empolyee told me a whole aisle was to be used for military items this year - this was back in October - and that store was only using half an aisle last week

Y'know, how would a mig suddenly appear there? I visit that store every couple of days (I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM, DEAR), and don't believe a box of 'em sold out since then.

I know, it had to be an erroneous return from a nearby walmart

Move along folks, nothin to see here, everythings fine.

then again - they will sometimes just put out a few at a time - - Whwn I bought my daisy June - it was the only one - the next day there was another sitting in its place -

probably a sales scheme - these guys will probably fork out the money a bit quicker if they think it is the last one!!! bwa ha ha -

well I fell for it.....

I kinda knew that TRU was going to start to pick up 1:18 planes from 21C again... I just didn't think it was going to be this early in the year. If they do have them and if they are migs than it sounds to me like TRU pulled the trigger on the planes and 21C had to ship what they could to fill in the plan o gram section. So... Don't fear! Newer planes should follow, I am just glad that planes are back and we now have another place to look! GREAT NEWS and a welcomed start to the new year.

If TRU needs AC asap I kinda hope 21C at least does a run of HTF models. Cobras, Spits or AVG P40s would all be nice to get at MSRP. 8)

It will be like the BBI at Target - all items we already have and that were recently on sale at Wal Mart. But I can see where in a few months we'll get newer items. I like Digger's proposal very much, but do not see it as being likely. Still, one could hope

Yes, I was just at my local TRU last night and lo and behold, there were four different 21C 1:18 aircraft:

Pearl Harbor P-40
Tigerstripe Mig-15
Smoke II F-104
Flying Undertaker P-51

all priced $39.

Seems like a good sign that 21Cs' newer aircraft will show as they're released!

wow.......good news we're starting to see planes at TRU. I had become concerned.

Price is good too, although i wonder if new releases will be the same or if 21c is dumping older, unwanted planes at a lower price.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

This is good news . Come on Me 262 Night fighter :D I also bet that TRU will have no problem with the large size B-25. That is if it ever becomes a reality
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

Wasn’t TRU getting ready to go under a while back? What changed? The stores around me seem to be doing a good business and now they’re offering more and more new products at fair prices.

They closed quite a few stores and restructured the company, and apparently have been doing better than most forecasters had expected initially. Hopefully the trend will continue to swing upwards!

Just like the old days  I will have to check my local stores, though I'm not expecting to see anything anytime soon.

While I am glad to see that someone is still carring the 21st stuff, I know it will be harder to find then it was at Walmart. There are 4 TRU's in the metro KC area and one in Topeka Ks. and one each in Columbia and Springfield Mo. which totals only 7 Tru's in about a 100 mile radius. There are probaly at least 30 to 40 Walmarts in that same area.

Saw these tonight myself... Don't know planes enough to know what I was looking at, but I did see an ME109 I believe, which surprised me.

Also saw a quad .15 camo with the turret off in the package that I almost tried getting a discount on. ;)

Checked my TRU this evening and found:
F-86 Mitch
P-51 Flying Undertaker
P-40 Pearl Harbor
Stuka (latest spotted camo version)

Scanned at $39 each.

Also had the new 1:144 scale dual packs with pink Spitfire and ME-262 white nose.
