Great pictures, Razor! LOVE the background and floor AND the table too! These guys look great! Love the extra hand too! In one picture with the hand on the table-it looked like Thing from the Adam's Family

Hope you can post more pictures! Like to see these guys sitting and to see some pictures of the US figures too!

Didn't you know the Germans were working on the "Thing" (target hand incendiary nade go) device late in the war?

Yes, it does look like "Thing" from the Addams Family show, now that I look at them.

In taking apart the figures, I noticed that FOV packages their figures and equipment in a way that requires you to purchase more of their figures to get all the items you need to outfit the figures correctly. The MG-42 gunners have P-38 pouches, but not P-38s. The last guy in the pics has a P-38, but no pouches for them. (must buy MG-42 guy to get pouches for P-38 guy and so forth). Clever way for us to HAVE to buy more figures.

I really like the way these figures work and look. I was able to pose the P-38 guy in a way that makes him hold the gun in a realistic firing pose.

I struggled with the Panzershrek guy (he does have a special hand to hold the weapon with) to put him in a firing pose. (I finally gave up and posed him just holding the weapon because his arm is too long to have him hold the weapon on his shoulder and hold the trigger)

The other thing I noticed is "DON'T LOSE ANY EQUIPMENT" Each figure's equipment is made just for him. Yes, you mix and match stuff, but that specific backpack/mess kit only fits on that figure. It's not like the Series 1 21stC XD figures - where they have the Henry Ford concept that any part will fit any other automobile/figure made. (US and German figures respective)

I will open up the US guys tonight or tomorrow and take more pics. But I am not as impressed with the US guys.
The FOV Germans compared to their 21stC XD counterparts tend to be smaller in statue and their heads are smaller. But they don't look out of scale just like an average person standing next to Arnold Schwarzenegger (back in his movie "buff" days)

Should be about 5 & 1/2 feet so if it is taller then him than it is a bit long I believe.

Hey guys, I'm new here.

I bought the whole lot of these today at Target. I've taken some rather large photos of the two that I've opened.

The American gent is "SSG. Martin Stranko" and the German is "Obergrenadier Gerhardt Spiegel."

Thumbnails will open HUGE photos, so dialup beware. (My apologies for not having a more appropriate diorama-type background. This was a hurried effort.)

A couple notes. On the Stranko figure, the helmet, backpack, canteen and shovel are all separate pieces, as is the Thompson (of course.) Stranko also comes with an M1, a radio, a pair of binoculars, a second hand and a chuck of ground to serve as a stand.

Spiegel comes with the items shown as well as a Kar98k, two grenades, a gas can (very cool), a second hand, and the same chuck of earth piece. On that figure, the helmet, shovel, and German rucksack are removable. Unlike the 21st Century Germans, the rucksack is a single piece and the individual components do not separate.

Overall, I am very pleased with this series. They are reasonably on par with the 21st Century stuff, I suppose. For the price, I would definitely recommend them.

I agree, Normandy! I checked out the Target here in Strongsville, Ohio and NOTHING...then I drove out to the Target in Elyria...and...NOTHING there either...sigh....

Found the new WWII figures today. I really like the Germans, and the US soldiers, while not bad, are not my favorite. I've got too many of the BBI US soldiers to warrant getting even more. The Germans, however, were a must

Maybe I'm just spoiled by my Star Wars Clone Troopers, but why in the world don't mfgs include ankle articulation? So many realistic poses can be achieved by doing this and it drives me nuts that it hasn't been done yet. I can only assume that the wrists are articulated.

Power Team's 1:18 figures have the ankle articulation-and you're right! More realistic poses can be done with that. PT also has articulation at the hips making their figures able to ride a motorcycle. Sure wish 21C, FOV, bbi would do the same with their figures.

Here are some weapon comparison shots. Everything looks good size-wise except the panzerfaust 60 from FoV is either really small or the Dragon/21C ones are too big.

Dragon as usual wins hands down for detail, but the FoV items are a cut above the older 21st Century ones.

I'll post some mp-40 and luger comparisons if you guys are interested.
